Where do you buy your condoms etc from
« on: 13 January 2015, 08:36:05 am »
We need another condom thread. ;)

How I didn't know about the Freedom website, I couldn't tell you. I guess because I was just using the GUM clinic and topping up by dropping into a local needle exchange. Once in a blue moon, I bought condoms at Boots. But I want to stop relying on the taxpayer to fund me and I realised that ordering 144 condoms at once is much better in terms of never running out at awkward times.

I had a look at the site and I was very impressed. However, I've mainly used Durex because that's what the clinics have given me. They're not available in bulk for cheap on that site. Mates and Passant are.

I would like some small, regular, and large condoms. I see that Passant have both "large" and "king size" and I'm not sure if I should get both or just the largest of the two.

Do any of you have any recommendations based on personal experience with Mates or Passant?

It's a great site, I learnt of it on here, before then I used to go to the gum clinic, I just hadn't realised you could buy in bulk.
Anyway I'm a massive fan of the pasante regulars (144pk) I only do ow and for that and sex they just seem to glide better and feel less bulky
The mates originals feel thicker and more matte
I've got the king size and large pasante and I don't think there's much difference between them

Thanks for this. I realised that I have a few Passant regulars so I will try them. All I have to compare them to is Durex, really, as that's what I've been getting from the clinic.

Agree it's a great site.

I think Pasante Large are 55mm wide, and King Size 60mm. From Freedom I've bought the King Size and also the Skyns XL, and I find both are fine for bigger clients.

For normal/average I get Mates Naturals (and I find these are quite generous).

For small I get the Pasante Trim, and these are good.

As an escort, I actually only use Durex once in a blue moon, as in my private life I found them the most unreliable brand. I also had issues with Trojan Magnums. Going forward, I will probably stick to Pasante, Mates and Skyns; I like the Pasante Sensitive regular ones.

I like Pasante and Mates does anyone else think the Skyns have a funny smell and taste funny when you do OW but i guess thats because they are not latex i brought a bulk load of SKyns online and made a point of asking all the clients i used them with if they felt the diffrence not many of my clients did feel much diffrence though

Also use the Mates naturals a lot i buy mine from home bargains its only 1.49 for a box of 12  :) (think the same box of 12 is about 5-6 quid in boots) i always pick up about 7 boxes though so i try an go there first thing of a morning before it gets busy lol

I would reccomend Mates naturals for most guys

Pasante king size for big guys

Pasante trim for the small guys

I had the same experience with Skyns - none of them seemed to notice or care. I will still keep a handful around in case I get someone with a latex allergy, but I'm not going to splash out on them.

I used to use Durex, but never again, I stick with Mates and I have never had a slippage, or breakage and they don't taste gross either.

I've ordered three lots of 144 condoms: Pasant Trim, Pasant Regular, and Mates King Size. Also a big pump bottle of Liquid Silk lube, as that stuff is great. I got a small bottle off Love Honey once and loved it - the 250ml bottle is ?2 cheaper on this site!

Have you just ordered your condoms off the NHS website? How much was the 144 pack?

I use the liquid silk lube as well, it should last you ages, can get two 250ml bottles for 17.89 on amazon only thing i found with the liquid silk is the pump action lid is a bit of a faff to close you end up wasting lube to lock the lid as you have to press it down rather than just twist so i put the lid off my old lube (the super slik one) on it instead.

Good choices Fabulassie!

I know it might sound weird, but I've never felt comfortable with the idea of taking free condoms. I use the NHS enough as it is, and don't feel that the taxpayer should subsidise my whoring. But that's just my very personal opinion, so please don't take offence anyone... And the great thing about the Freedom shop is that it's a good compromise, as they provide such great value and service. I love the shagpacks for the smaller/larger sizes, and then the 144 boxes of regulars.

I only use lube once in a blue moon for hand jobs, but will bear them in mind next time I need some.

I love the NHS freedoms shop. I wish they did a mixed pack of condoms though - with some trim, large and regular sizes. I bought a 144 pack of regular sized ones but never have enough king size or trim so I still get those ones from the clinic. In theory as I pay taxes I think it's okay to take free condoms (the NHS is a public service after all, similar in a way to how surgeons don't pay for their own gloves/medical equipment) but as the NHS is overstretched and they're so cheap to bulk buy I prefer to buy them, I guess most self employed people have to buy their own supplies, and it also means never having to worry about running out :)

I'm not sure if it's age restricted (i've never been asked anyways!), although it seems more towards the under 25s but in certain Boots in Scotland, you can pick up free packs of Pasantes. They give you a wee card, with all sorts of options, and you tick the ones you want (eg trim, original, large, black, latex-free etc. etc.) I'm not sure if there's a limit on how many packs they give you at once, I've only ever gotten two (24 condoms). Like Alice, I have my usual stash of regular ones, that I keep topped up, but its a handy scheme to pick up the more unusual ones.

That's probably just a Scotland thing - I remember you could also sign your children up to a scheme where they could get basic medicines dispensed by the chemist for free. It's a great idea and I would probably use it to top up on occasion - particularly the unusual sizes - if it were available.
