What percentage of your callers turn up?
« on: 20 May 2020, 12:16:20 am »
Mine is dismally low, maybe 1 in 20 calls, 1 in 10 max. Sometimes it's 0 in 20. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I think it's down to advertising and screening that's right for your situation. And not being afraid to refuse randoms who you're not sure about.

Usually I get 1 call 1 booking but sometimes it's 2 calls 1 booking. I'm  a right interrogater, I'll pump them for information till I'm happy they're genuine.

Some days there will be unbeloved callers- the usual wankers and wasters but they don't get considered for bookings.

I only get a couple of no shows a year once a booking has actually been confirmed.

Before using deposits only 50% of new client bookings actually confirmed and turned up, I'd say 1 in 4 calls ended up in a booking and of that 50% did go ahead.

Odds are better with deposits something like 80 percent go ahead, interesting some of those don't confirm even thought I make it quite clear so I explicitly tell all new bookers I will assume they aren't coming if I don't receive this.

I do receive a lot of calls from other end of the country, or who haven't or claim not to have realised my details. Receiving enquiries from this who have read and understood is a breath of fresh air.

I had to read that twice as could not believe your numbers! If that was me I would have given up years ago so how you cope with that I have no idea.  I very rarely have a no show. So rare I don't consider it a problem or downside to the work at all.

Yes screening is the most important thing and mine is hot. I give no sexy chat in a phone call which I think some sps may be doing to entice the men but this could be the very thing that is causing no shows. Those men get what they want at no cost (a nice bit of phone sex).

Not saying you do this so if that is not the case I have no idea why this high number applies to you.

I have the same problem and I don't even show my number. They just sent me emails asking for my number, then we text and very often nothing happens. It drives me crazy, don't know how I attract so many time westers. Do you think it would be better to display my number? I am still quite new and only part time in this job.

My main suggestion would be to insist on actually speaking to them on the phone - that cuts out a lot of morons, and you can often pick up on TWs.

Well this ruined my day. I don't chat in phonecalls I get straight to the point. If they try to chat I just hang up. They're easy to spot. The ones that don't I text them my address but still less than 10% of even these turn up.

I have considered ignoring texts. Still I can speak to 20 over the phone and none show up. It's seriously frustrating.

Do you think it's a TS problem? Men who are "just curious" i.e wasting your time. "it's my first time" and "I'm nervous" are fairly common texts that I receive and they almost always mean a no-show. The other TS seem to be doing a roaring trade however judging by their expensive locations and tons of plastic surgery so I don't know. I hate this job honestly.

I'm in the States but so far for the past week, I've been more busy than usual. The turn up rate is high. Hopefully it stays high.

I think we all get those texts and calls it's a normal pile of bull we learn to ignore... not in any way a TS thing.

The only place I've ever worked where that would be normal is Ireland (and in Dublin that would be a pretty enviable hit rate ;D). I get one, maybe two a no shows a year and I don't remember the last one - I did have one last August I remember being angry about because it was at 7pm and I was bloody hungry.

Are you getting punters to confirm before the booking, or just taking request then giving them directions and not expecting to hear from them again before they arrive? In my experience the timewasters don't confirm mostly because they've forgotten what they said and moved onto another ad as soon as they put the phone down.

If you're not sure on the phone, another thing I've done is ask them to ring back in a couple of minutes (you can say you're in a busy place, or that somebody else is due to call back and you won't know your availability until they do, or whatever). The ones who actually want to see you will do so, the tyrekickers won't.

I am very strict and I rarely have any problems. Like others I do still get the occasional no show but I usually get an inclination they well mess me around and double book. There are destinations though, where I work a 'first come first served' basis because otherwise I'd be sitting with a parade of no shows.

Lastly, if I get a feeling they're not genuine, I ask them to call back in 10 minutes and I never take bookings longer than an hour without a deposit.

My conversion rate is high and I find the majority of contacts are genuine. That saying, I have days when I wonder if they are on the same planet as me!
