Everyone has their own way of working. Being low volume and high price is often a good option for people with other commitments who can't do this full time (or don't want to.) There was a good article about this a few years ago called Whorenomics or something. I find it really interesting!
I have found there's sometimes a bit of snobbery about people who work in different ways. So called 'high class' ladies can look down on anyone who charges less than a million quid an hour but there's also cynicism and reverse snobbery about people who want to take it slower and charge more.
There needs to be a lot less judgement all round really. We already face stigma from outside the industry.

This. I don't assume that just because an escort advertises herself as high class or whathaveyou that she actually thinks that about herself; some women just as you say, know its a part of the package of going with a high charge low volume 'business model', and same, although I don't like the whore snobbery I see (dommes looking down on escort, escorts looking down on porn players etc) I also get that because prostitutes are not thought of well, in the main, in general culture with an exception of perceived 'high class escorts' who are more tolerated (Brooke Magnanti etc) it can be tempting to cultivate yourself in that way to try and  protect yourself from harsh judgments from outsiders whether direct or as a self preservation thing. Like, you see awful depictions of prostitutes in films etc and think 'well at least I'm not that kind of prostitute'. Wanting to be thought of as Vivian, not Kit.

But to be honest I still think if you are going to try and charge more than £200 an hour hooking probably can't be your sole source of income (even if its webcam etc). I had a brothel mate once who was absolutely Hollywood stunning who worked for an agency charging £350 an hour and she got one a week on average (and got £250 of that) and some weeks nothing, so got her 'bread and butter money' at a £120 brothel. I reckon that shit is common.

I also know of a former MissBumBum winner (Brazilian contest) who had 2 ads in London. One with [removed] at £650 per hour and one on Backpage for £180/hr. On the £650 she said she had 2/3 bookings a month with footballers and celebrities mainly. They usually requested outcalls to their hotels for discretion and all. She also had a top flat in Mayfair for incalls

I don’t work on weekends, so that hurts, but a great week is 10 hours.  Average 6-7.  I LOVE the days when I can see 4-5 people- I’d always do that if the work was there, it just isn’t.
It’s a very good living, and I do get to enjoy the goodies/props, but I’m not rolling in tons of money.

I think younger women who do the same as me might be getting mega rich, but I really don’t know.

Yea indie escorts seem to charge a lot more in the states in many cases. I had a friend from there who said it was partially down to prohibition and that unlike the UK where, though there is a high end and a low end (purely talking in cost terms now) most british escorts seems to be bunched towards the middle £100-£200 ph rate, in the States there is more of a cleavage split towards an expensive end and then a much cheaper end with less in the middle.

US is a lot more dangerous in regards to escorting than some European countries imo, I have friends who are working in the US, and basically they could: get to jail and be banned from the US: anytime.

Yes, since Backpage imploded last year my costs for ads has skyrocketed here stateside. However I'm not paying anywhere near $2500/month *doubtful look*; if I did that I'd be living in a van down by the river, to quote the SNL skit.
