It's an awkward one i'm finding cause I actually used to have a part time job so perfect cover up but don't now so as i'm qualified in Hairdressing I've just told everyone I work in a salon in the next nearest city. That way I know no one is going to be in that city and said salon, unlikely anyway. X

I am a hairdresser and Holistic therapist but I am mobile so that is the perfect cover. I am already he there and every where so nobody questions my whereabouts or the times I work. I could legitemitly be doing my ordinary job. It's a great cover and I am slowly winding down that side of things to increase the othe other. Nobody knows or suspects any different.
Be in your happy place

I say I'm a personal virtual assistant working from home. I have a level 2 beauty therapy qualification but I don't use it as I don't want friends asking for treatments that I'm not really doing!
We're women, it's what we do. I just get paid for it.

I seldom tell people a cover story.  What I do it's none of their business.  But I used to teach part time both at a college and one to one, so people seem to assume that I still do that.  This too would explain why my phone is off or set to silent.  It explains why I am off out in the evenings too.

I am a professional by day so that's not an issue but I have to keep it a secret from my son.

I tell him that I work part time for a detective agency as a 'honey-trap' and go to meet men who are suspected of cheating on their wives to try to catch them out. I also told him I am also required to dress up.

There are several elements of truth in my story!!  8)

( I was at one point asked if I wanted to do this type of work, which is how I got the idea!!)

These days most people know what I do, but years ago when I was working in sauna's and had a boyfriend I told him I was
doing market-research . He never questioned it. He never knew how much money I was making either though   ;)
I don't have to be perfect, but I'm perfect at being me!

I tell people that I temp.  This explains why my working hours are all over the place.
Since I do outcalls only, I dress casually and tie my hair up in a messy bun when leaving home and get changed into a nice dress and heels, and take my hair down and spray some perfume in the car when I'm about to go into the booking.
I think if I started to flash the cash, people would start asking questions and it would be a matter of time before I was exposed.  So I wear expensive clothes to bookings and regular (sometimes very cheap) clothes to the gym and in my civilian life.  It's best not to discuss your finances with anyone, not even a close circle of friends, only you and your accountant/the tax man need to know those details!

I tell people I work in a bar and work late hours... I also get a lot of tips. That pretty much explains it all :)

Last-minute babysitting is another good cover-up.

Slightly different situation, but I am telling my new uni classmates that I am living off inheritance. I also have a legit work at home job of which I exaggerate the earnings. Oh, and my mum thinks I have an extra curriculum teaching job.
I really hate lying though, always super paranoid. Although being truthful is a risk too.

Most kids at my uni are stinking rich anyway, so I've never had to say anything! They just assume mummy or daddy foots the bill!
