For doing this job. What do people say they do to hide it?
Thanks :)

It's an awkward one i'm finding cause I actually used to have a part time job so perfect cover up but don't now so as i'm qualified in Hairdressing I've just told everyone I work in a salon in the next nearest city. That way I know no one is going to be in that city and said salon, unlikely anyway. X

I am a hairdresser and Holistic therapist but I am mobile so that is the perfect cover. I am already he there and every where so nobody questions my whereabouts or the times I work. I could legitemitly be doing my ordinary job. It's a great cover and I am slowly winding down that side of things to increase the othe other. Nobody knows or suspects any different.

I say I'm a personal virtual assistant working from home. I have a level 2 beauty therapy qualification but I don't use it as I don't want friends asking for treatments that I'm not really doing!

Agency nursing, work all kinds of shifts and not allowed mobile on due to electrical equipment all true lol .
I even say this to some clients .... ;)

I have a part time job so that's a good cover up I always have money without fail an some times people get suspicious as to why I always have money because I'm a single mum an people no my little ones dad doesn't pay ... So everyone's like how do you always have money ::)

I seldom tell people a cover story. What I do it's none of their business. But I used to teach part time both at a college and one to one, so people seem to assume that I still do that. This too would explain why my phone is off or set to silent. It explains why I am off out in the evenings too.

I am a professional by day so that's not an issue but I have to keep it a secret from my son.
I tell him that I work part time for a detective agency as a 'honey-trap' and go to meet men who are suspected of cheating on their wives to try to catch them out. I also told him I am also required to dress up.
There are several elements of truth in my story!! 8)
( I was at one point asked if I wanted to do this type of work, which is how I got the idea!!)

These days most people know what I do, but years ago when I was working in sauna's and had a boyfriend I told him I was
doing market-research . He never questioned it. He never knew how much money I was making either though ;)

I tell people that I temp. This explains why my working hours are all over the place.
Since I do outcalls only, I dress casually and tie my hair up in a messy bun when leaving home and get changed into a nice dress and heels, and take my hair down and spray some perfume in the car when I'm about to go into the booking.
I think if I started to flash the cash, people would start asking questions and it would be a matter of time before I was exposed. So I wear expensive clothes to bookings and regular (sometimes very cheap) clothes to the gym and in my civilian life. It's best not to discuss your finances with anyone, not even a close circle of friends, only you and your accountant/the tax man need to know those details!

I tell people I work in a bar and work late hours... I also get a lot of tips. That pretty much explains it all :)

People have been wondering where am I going all dressed up at eleven o clock at night, I tell them a friend needs picking up, explains why I am on,y out an hour or. Two.

Last-minute babysitting is another good cover-up.

Slightly different situation, but I am telling my new uni classmates that I am living off inheritance. I also have a legit work at home job of which I exaggerate the earnings. Oh, and my mum thinks I have an extra curriculum teaching job.
I really hate lying though, always super paranoid. Although being truthful is a risk too.

Most kids at my uni are stinking rich anyway, so I've never had to say anything! They just assume mummy or daddy foots the bill!

Depends who I'm talking to, I tell most people I'm a nanny or that I work in a pub as people don't find either of those professions terribly interesting and it makes sense with my age. When I was looking for flats I told them I was a massage therapist. I wouldn't tell friends or family that tho as they'd all begin asking for massages!

My close friends & family members I know I can trust all know what I do. If anyone else asks me, I tell them I'm self-employed in entertainment. If they press for details, I tell them I'm on down time & don't want to discuss work.

At hotels I say I am a website creator but would really love to shut it out that I work there! I really don't care if they know.
It really depends from your personal skills what you can say.

I use this one too! But I'm trying to come up with a good excuse for why I go touring all the time and can't think of anything besides I'm going to meet my long-distance boyfriend.
