Do any of you think to tell anybody where you are when you rent an apartment to work from?

The thought has come to me lately, what if I had a stroke or heart attack?? Nobody would know where I was.

Or if you tripped and banged your head.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

I wouldn't work anywhere without somebody knowing where I was, when a punter was going to be there and how long they would be there for - that includes when I worked from home. Security buddies aren't just for outcalls :).

It's just occurred to me that nobody actually knows the address of where I am. Time to sort that.

Someone always knows where I am, how long for and when to expect me to be in contact. This applies to incall and outcall, and across most of my life.

It is a very good idea that someone should know where you are. However, even if a security buddy knows where you are, if you get a stroke or heart attack you may not want to wait some time until they notice, or rely on them to figure out what happened and then call 999.

It can be life saving to educate yourself about the symptoms so that you can take immediate direct action if possible. Have 999 saved on your phone(s), and possibly even have a note of your address on the phone so that you can read it out in case you are struggling to think and communicate. I don't know if 999 can track a mobile's location, it'd be great if it can.

It may be even better to register with emergencySMS, have a draft SMS with all the information needed, and text it to 999 as soon as you notice the symptoms.

There are also some apps that claim to be able to call emergency services and send an automated text with your location. Never used any so can't tell how well they actually work. With emergencySMS there should be no need to use them, they might be more useful if you are travelling abroad.

Lots of people live on their own in the UK I don't see it is any different.

The difference is most people would know where to look if you dissapeared.

Oh my god this os a scary thought... Nobody knows where I am except for those who wouldn't notice my disappearance.

Luckily, my upstairs neighbours are a friendly family and I believe they will be able to 'smell me' if the worst comes tp worst as my front door is rather flimsy.

Also, if a customer turned nasty, my neighbours will hear me scream without a doubt. X

Sad as it seems I could be dead for weeks before anyone realised I was missing  :P

My neighbours would defo hear me, the corridor is only small and you can hear every word that is said, so if I screamed they would 100 % hear me.

Would they do anything about it?  I doubt I would get anybody to help me where I live.  My neighbours are retired and in their own worlds and the other side it is detached and they wouldn't hear.
