hi

to be honest i haven't been doing it long and im not even sure how to go about finding out if there is
anyone doing this around here. there is a local premier inn not far.

Rosaley, premier Inn and Travelodge are way down at the bottom of the list of hotels to use, really they are unusable as they are keycarded even to get out of reception in most cases which is no use at all.  Yeah safe for "normal" people to use but not for prossies.  :FF

Rose, if you use the Search box for things like 'outcall hotel' or 'outcall home', you should find lots of info in addition to everything on the main SAAFE site :).

If you want to discuss something that's completely different to the original subject, it's best to either add to a previous topic on that subject or start a new one, just so that things don't get completely derailed.

I generally will not visit budget hotels like Travelodge / Premier Inns due to most of them being key carded, so you can not go direct to the room. The other thing that I dislike is that many have small reception areas and your arrival is noticeable.

These are just individual preferences and not rules set in stone that all should apply

Hi Rose,
I work from home and I have young children.  I do sometimes get a bit paranoid about people noticing, however my house is quiet discreet and unless the people opposite kept a vigil beside their front window 24/7 I'm not sure how obvious it is as I don't see many clients.
Regarding SS, give them a call and ask them their opinion, I did just that and their response was as long as children aren't at risk, it's not illegal.
I think you would have to worry if your house was a state and children looked like ragamuffins, then SS would have more on you than escorting.
At the end of the day this is how I make a living, if anyone doesn't like it, i'd suggest they pay my mortgage etc. It's not possible to work from hotels, as a single parent I simply can't afford to pay for rooms and then risk no bookings.
Plus, this is my home, I'll do what I want in it!!!

It's a completely different ball game if you OWN your property.  Girls who work from rental properties have a lot more things they have to take into consideration.

Well the safety 'issue' is a bit of a non-starter - you're talking about inviting people into your home, where your and your family live and your belongings are kept (and don't forget that plenty of people believe we don't pay tax or bank our earnings, so have bundles of banknotes stashed everywhere). It's really swings and roundabouts.

With outcalls, nobody ever gets to find out where you live, and provided you do proper checks and follow a good security procedure they're no less safe; incalls mean constantly being aware of not leaving post/bills about which might have your legal name visible, photographs, birthday cards and so on as well as things like laundry (and punters do occasionally steal things) and the worries about neighbours already mentioned. The only place I've ever been robbed in over eleven years is my own front room.

I think your husband has every right to an opinion - presumably it's his home too and he may not be comfortable with complete strangers trampling through it. My advice would be to separate off completely the room you're going to use for work (and keep all your work stuff in it), and keep punters out of your 'family' areas like the living room, kitchen and so on - if you've only got one bathroom it's tougher, but make sure everything personal belonging to you, him or your children is put away where they can't get at it.

yes sorry i agree with it all 'i'm not going to do incalls i have no choice in the matter as you say its not just my house.

the trouble with out calls is i don't have a car i can drive but hubby uses the car fir his work.im not intending to see loads of clients it just for extra cash . but i need to get client that are close or it means charging for taxis or bus fare.

howd did such a simple thing turn into such a complicated mess.feeling frustrated :FF and fed up not regretiing starting this just wish it wasnt so ahhh  ??? why me is nothing ever simple anymoe

Safety issues are always a concern and anybody working should always be thinking of safety, be it in-calls or out-calls and it really does not matter where, a punter will nick a pair of your knickers....

I don't think anyone has mentioned the fact that even though you may work discretely from home and only when you're child is at school what if you get a stalker/nutter client?

I have had one client who began as a perfectly nice guy then stalked me for several months, luckily I don't work where I live.

If you have a child at home you are putting them at risk in my opinion however careful you are x
If something is not perceived it doesn't exist.

No more so than anyone who works from their own home, you could get a stalker from anywhere, I don't think once you screen clients they are likely to he any more stalker material than the average in general population.
Plus I'm really open with my clients, mist would be seriously scared if confronted with children/partners etc!
It's what works for you at the end if the day, I personally feel more secure at home than on outcalls, I don't drive so if they are far away I usually stress about losing the taxi fare if it's a time waster.
Perhaps if you start with outcalls, see if you get any repeat bookings that you would be happy to see at home.
