The second time was an AirBnB, and it was after I left. I didn't realise there were cameras on the doorbell (lax of me) and I got booted off the site. That bothered me more but just because the owner of the property was unnessearily offensive, calling me disgusting and telling me that I should be ashamed of myself for selling myself etc.

That’s awful that the owner was offensive.
I’m cautious about Airbnbs now as there has been a lot in the news about secret cameras inside them. Some cameras can even be put in shower heads or behind mirrors.

Same. I like having the home comforts of an apartment or a house when I'm away, but in the end the security and anonymity of a big corporate chain hotel with a discretionary outlook is just a better bet.

And this is why we don't and have never condoned or encouraged using this site to find places to work on SAAFE, and posts attempting to do so are edited or removed.

Even leaving aside the potential consequences for the owners and how shitty it is to turn peoples private homes into brothels, the fact is that you're not renting from a large operation and the owners can and will do whatever they like to protect their property. So would I.

We can't stop people doing it, but we're not going to help them either. Back to hotels now, please :)

I am still amused by an old comment of Amy's about looking for hotel reviews on general sites that complain about staff that clearly don't care about guests and going 'that one looks workable...'

Same
If I see a review that is something like oh Johnathon the manager remembered is from our wedding anniversary 10 years ago  - it’s a big fat no from me

If the review is - staff are awful asked for towels and got them
On my last day no one on reception to check us in staff all hide out the back - hotel is like faulty towers
I think - oh  potential hotel to work from 😂

I'm not sure why you're rolling your eyes at my post, VM. Maybe use your words?
