My website has a blog feature. And I don't quite know what to do with it. One lady I know blogs about football and alternates it with candid shots of her breasts... this is understandably popular with men, but I'm not a football fan!
(I'm also a bit rubbish at selfies.)
What I am is a fan of books and music and random stuff but how weird would it be to read a WG's opinion on which was the best metal album of 2013? Are they interested in getting to know who we are? I have no idea!

Like Paris I blog about what I've been up to. The other week I blogged about going to Hard Rock Hell, as I'm a big rock/metal fan. I'm also into the fetish scene, 40's/50's vintage scene and burlesque scene, so I'm usually up to something one weekend or another. Guys love it when I put up saucy pics of me in my fully fashioned stockings and suspenders in public places, or what I've been up to at a fetish club etc. I've had quite a few comments from them when they've come to see me.
If I've had a couple of quiet weeks, then I might write my own review of a movie I've seen or book I've read. Also I occasionally write about what goes on in the sex industry, such as when Rhona Grant was trying to get a bill passed in Scotland to criminalise clients who see prostitutes. I think writing about things like that now and again, makes guys aware what really going on in the industry and how it can affect them and us.
Putting up a few saucy pics throughout your blog will certainly keep them interested.

It's not weird at all - my blog covers just about anything except work and I never write anything even remotely salacious, although I do normally stick a paragraph in towards the end with things like availability for the next few days, or where my next location's going to be or whatever. I write about where I've been, what I ate when I got there, what I saw at the cinema and all manner of other stuff as well as occasional bits of activism stuff and any upcoming events which might be of interest. I also stick up collages of pictures I've taken on my phone along the way.
You'll find that the ones who are interested will like it, whereas the ones who aren't just won't read it in the first place - it's free, so it's win-win really :). In fact I'd stick my neck out and say I've probably had more bookings (and certainly gained more regulars) from my blog than my site.

Are you talking about AW blogs as well as other ones? Well... I will give it a try!

Well I just copy and paste my proper blog into Adultwork and remove the bits which they won't allow, but apart from that it's exactly the same bar only being able to post one picture (and having to pretend the rest of the internet doesn't exist).

Doesn't surprise me at all. Blogs are extremely good at getting across your (working) personality and so are a big boost. As a nice side-effect, search engines love the new content.
The combination means that if anyone ever searches for something like 'escort into heavy metal'...

.. you'll be glad you posted about the best metal album :) Because the answer to the second question is yes, for at least some clients.

My blog / website just dictates when I am working an where I will be, but very little else...
I am frightened to have an opinion - Gerald Ratner once proclaimed to sell crap and paid a a heavy price for doing so, so what do we sell? The truth? Or what others wish to believe?
A few times I have almost written a blog post on something, but then changed my mind, I am an escort, I am neutral, I do not have an opinion or observation on life... I am what I am!
Where do we start?

I've sometimes wondered whether I should run a blog. I have a high percentage of regulars and they seem to like to identify with me and a couple have suggested it. I like the idea because I am more comfortable with clients I know, but is it too dangerous? I have read other escort blogs and some don't mention escorting but others do. What is the right balance?

You should never fear to have your opinion. It may loose you some clients but it may gain you some too.
Whilst I would not advice being overly controversial and writing an essay bashing Israel or something i do believe blogs are also a marketing tool for future business.
A lot of clients like the idea of getting to know more about the person they are going to see. Some aren't comfortable with sharing which is cool.

On my AW blog. I blog about absolute...rubbish. Lol. Anything I feel like saying at the time.

Ha! Me too. I find blogging incredibly difficult and it isn't something that comes naturally to me. I don't like to talk about subjects that could alienate certain clients or cause offence and I certainly don't like revealing too much about myself or my work, which makes finding new material a task in itself. I just try to keep my posts light and breezy and hope they appeal to someone out there. :)

I too get more clients from my blog than from anywhere else. I try to keep my blogs quite light hearted and funny, and try to stay away from negativity or ranting as I think this puts people off.
I too was worried about blogging to start with, because I thought it would put off those clients that didn't agree with my point of view or didn't like the tone of my posts. This has turned out to be true actually, but in a good way! I now have more bookings than I did before starting my blog, and best of all they are all really nice people that seem to be compatible with me and share my sense of humour. It stands to reason if you think about it, as obviously they've got to know me through my blog and already like my personality - that's one of the main reasons they've booked. I'm sure there are equal numbers of people that have read my blog and thought "no thanks" but these are people that probably wouldn't have liked me anyway.
So yes I think a blog is a great idea, and don't be afraid to express your personality and your opinion! I would just advise that you stay away from any very controversial or contentious issues and try to keep the tone positive if you can.

Those who say they get more clients from their blog than anywhere else... how are the blogs promoted? Mine is just part of my website. Should I also have one on blogspot or something? How does that work?

Mine is linked from my website too, plus I have a blogroll with links to other ladies and get some hits from the ones who link to me as well as using the tags function (so various things I've written about pop up in searches). As Ian's said, because the content is updated regularly it often comes up higher in Google than my site as new stuff moves it up the search rankings (don't ask me how because I haven't got a clue :-\).
It's worth pointing out that an ignored or not updated blog is far worse than not having one at all - putting a couple of entries up and then getting bored and not adding to them for a year or more looks bad, and whilst the punters who don't read them won't know or care, the ones who do will definitely notice. I do mine once a week if I can, or at least once a fortnight if I'm too busy (I draft bits on my phone inbetween too); it's worth having a non-date specific one in reserve if you can be that organised in case you get really stuck (I'm not ;D).
As for not having an opinion, I wouldn't have most of my regulars if I didn't both have and demonstrate a mind of my own, or not the ones I like best, anyway :). Whilst I agree about not ranting or being overly negative, that's more because it's incredibly boring and tiresome to read (irrespective of the topic or who's doing it), not because I care about putting people off. As Hadley says, the people who are put off by my blog/site/ads are largely put off because they're not people I'd get along with or want to see, and vice versa.

A blog on your own site is best.
I have a Twitter profile with a link back to my blog, I post a teaser on Twitter with a link back to each blog post.
Put a Web site link on your AW profile (a link back to AW is required & your link is only shown when your phone number is displayed)
Link back to your web site from as many sites as you can, some site are not adult friendly so depending on your name, you could link back to your Twitter profile.
Try and use keywords in your blogs, escort, name of your location etc. Don't over do it on each blog but try and mention them at least once if it is relative to the post.

As the person Kimberly mentions in her OP, I just wanted to point out that I don't just blog about football and stick up random selfies of my tits!
I blog about things I'm interested in, one of which happens to be football, though it could be anything. I'm into music but tend to avoid mentioning concerts and so on because I go regularly to the same smallish venues and I don't want nutters turning up trying the spot me.
I reveal a fair amount about myself as a person and I've had a lot of really interesting bookings as a result. I stick the odd photo on when I've had a new set taken as a taster before they go on my website gallery and sometimes I'll muck around taking pics of myself and I put those up if I like them.
All I can say is that I notice an increase in enquiries and bookings when I've put lots of content into my blog and whilst I mostly avoid any reference to or details of bookings, I do occasionally mention anything unusual, which this week happens to be stuffing my tits into tights!

Pulled out this old thread because I'm curious as to why so many escorts criticise other escorts via their blogs? I blog about sessions I've had or would like to have, sometimes blog a small bit about my holidays nothing ever about my personal life.
Have read some really bitchy blogs though, apart from punters not liking it in my opinion I don't feel it's very nice to slag other girls looks or services, everyone is different and clients like different types of girls, just a rant really! X
