So we all have no shows right, so of course i thought nothing of it when one client did not turn up. Gave him a quick call after he was 10 minutes late, straight to answer phone. Typical no show of course again so i thought and went about my day shrugging it off as you would.

My phones were abnormally quiet that day too but again, that happens for sure.

A few hours later i got a flurry of text messages and missed calls and i panicked as i realized i'd left some poor man standing outside my place for i have no clue how long. Considering it had been a length of time since the booking i did not ring the man up out of escort courtesy but sent an apology text.

About a month later today the same thing happened but with one of my regulars DOH! I soon clicked something was wrong with my phone and not just the mobile service so tomorrow a swift trip to the shops first thing! to get another phone, a trusty Nokia rather than some "fancy" touch screen phone that breaks every chance it gets. However I am worried this has ruined my reputation of punctuality and outright infuriated my clients as you can imagine. How can i shake this off, apologize profusely for making him wait what... 40 minutes only to go home without a visit?

Anyone had any experience in this? I feel so terrible i seemingly stood these men up.

(The telecom is out of service for good in my apartment complex hence the use of phones)

Try not to worry about it, the clients might be annoyed but will pass. All you can do from now is to put things right. I know punters use forums so have a look.

This has happened to me and I've changed phones umpteen times, tried another network and complained to my provider. In the UK coverage in some reasonable urban areas is intermittent, it's very poor compared to some of the remote places I've visited in Europe so I know it's not because I live somewhere in the back of beyond(and I'm in a fairly important county town).

I did have someone the other day turn up having made an error writing my phone number down, luckily because I can see from my window I was able to spot him and was able to call him/go out and fetch him in a discrete manner. I've also had other's make the same mistake, or lose power on their phone at the last minute.  I'd say when confirming make sure you give a place to call you can see that way you can spot your potential client and grab him if the phone decides not to work. I also tell my clients when confirming if you don't get a response within 5 minutes phone me - if it's because I'm busy leave a voicemail. That way you've covered yourself - too many people rely on text messages these days, and even in areas of good coverage the networks still don't guarantee delivery.

I wouldn't buy any Nokia phone again. They were good years ago,now it's just rubbish.
I got loads of calls in Cork, after I changed my photos(few years ago).My phone worked till battery got flat,so I put it on charger, and turned back on.It was quiet for a couple of hours, and strangely I only got texts coming in,no calls.I didn't realize at first that there was something wrong.I had 2 bookings, some guy got pissed off and drove away,as I turned him down(I thought he is playing a fool and don't want to call me,is TW or a robber)Later I had a booking with a regular and he text me that he tried to call.My phone didn't make any sign nor sound of an incoming calls,so I restarted it and it started to work as normal. It happened few times, and when I switched to my other Nokia I had exacly same problem. That were both Nokia N85,nothing fancy.
