website anaylitics

Was just wondering how many hits you ladies get in a week. I just want to assess how well my site is doing but thats hard when you have no idea what numbers to expect.

It depends on where and when I advertise. I have Google Analytics, and where I get the bulk of my traffic with the least amount of effort is where I buy the advertising. For example: when you're on a site where there are a MILLION girls and you still get the most traffic from that site,(for me that's Punterlink) I would step up my game and get a featured listing. If I'm on a site, and I don't get very much play at all, say a local review board, and I only get spikes of inquiries when I post something, and they offer banner advertisements, I would buy the banner placement for a month, and post as much as possible, and if it doesn't do well, or you don't get ANY bookings, I dump it.

It's not about what other ladies are doing. Just analyze your own business, and set goals to do better than you have been. Compete against yourself. If you need any help, just pm me.

Happy hunting!

That's interesting, does Punterlink really attract that much interest in the USA?

I get lots of hits from Google and have just put a free ad on the Google Maps Local Business bit (where you get a brief, clickable listing page with a little map with a pointer on - obviously shift it a few streets away from your actual location), although it is still 'Pending' and apparently has to be checked - does anybody know how long this takes? And does anybody use Adwords?

Amber, I would suggest that if you want to improve your search engine ranking that you buy your own domain name for your site; the trouble with the 'hornyhelen.freeprossiesites.com' rather than just plain 'hornyhelen.com' ones is that the likes of Google don't recognise them as standalone sites and just read the bit which says .freeprossiesites although this doesn't matter much if more of your traffic comes from directory ads. You may also find that more directory ads are available to you - some will not take listings from free sites.

I agree that the figures don't matter - my site is pretty well ranked Google-wise and gets a fair few hits but I live in the arse end of nowhere and am not competing with ten squillion other ladies for local traffic. Plus, the numbers don't always reflect actual business - I get tons of hits from my profile here and a huge number from my blog which I know is read by lots of different people including other ladies (and ditto theirs; I often spend the odd free hour catching up with folk  :D). The cash in the bank at the end of the day is what matters.

I literally attempted to set up some Adwords last week! I think they are active now but were pending for ages. I just set up a local business thingy, too, but no activity on either just yet.

Yeah - Google analytics tells me that SAAFE is in the top 5 of referrals to my site. The other ones include Twitter (again, maybe cool people checking out my site, but really zero punters - at best, one or two numpties who just decide they then want to 'chat' with me about my oh-so-sexXxy job, ugh), Google (organic searches for 'Emily Jones escort' etc), Captain69 (I've had some horrid clients from there and currently want to REMOVE my listing from their godawful site) and Adultwork (where I get, bizarrely, most of my clients from; I screen them carefully and usually they're great). Apparently my site hits range from 50-140 per day.

Recently, I read an article about how online marketing is rubbish and generally does not have the desired effect for businesses that 'SEO experts' claim. I am really considering a print ad somewhere but, er, not in the Sport but also not in something my dad might read. Which leaves me very little leeway! Maybe Men's Health or GQ. :P

I tried adwords years ago and it was a complete waste of money, but to be fair I was just playing and had no strategy whatsoever. If you stick to quite specific search terms and don't get impatient for clicks it might work. I thought they'd banned all our sort from using it though? Or was that just the agencies?

Well, I've seen adwords and business listings for 'companions' and agencies both on Google searches but never before a straight-forward indie escort link. My adwords appear to have been accepted but as I said, no activity yet. I've written down a note to remind myself to check 'em and probably cancel 'em at the end of the month unless I magically get contacted by a man (Eric Schmidt? Eww) who says, "OMG I saw your Google adword campaign and was so impressed I'd like to pay you ?1,000,000 for a half hour HJ-only appointment" and he then actually does so.

Update: Google Adwords disapproved me! Hmph. At least there was no financial outlay. I'm sure I had seen adwords for escort agencies here and there! I don't know about the business location bit yet as I can't be arsed to check; it's free, too.
