Waiving pre-session meet fee?
« on: 08 August 2014, 04:12:16 pm »
I've got a 4 hour booking next Wednesday for ?300 (this is a lot of money for me) with a couple. The female half wants to meet the day before for a coffee - this is something I'm very willing to do, for such a long booking I'd rather meet her beforehand, and I offer get to know you meets anyway as a regular service. (I'm a Domme and a lot of my clients haven't done much kink before and are nervous, hence wanting to meet beforehand so they can feel calmer on the day.)

I normally charge ?50 for a 30 minute (ish) casual meet, but my question is if I should waive the fee this time? I'm wary of giving my time for free, especially as I'm travelling for this booking for no extra charge and have spent my credit calling both halves of the couple to make the booking, but it is a good booking for me and has the potential to become a regular thing, so I wonder if it's worth waiving it as a gesture of good will.

Thoughts...?

How about offering to deduct it from the fee at the time of booking.

That way you won't be out of pocket for travel should they decide to cancel :)

I think if they are happy to pay then take the money, you will be out of pocket if you don't and there is no guarantee the 4 hour booking will go ahead.

Try and reduce the amount it is costing you, let them do the calling at their expense.

This.  You have no guarantee the booking will go ahead and if it doesn't you will be out of pocket enough already on time and calls.

Don't let the fact it's a couple/woman blind you, a client is a client and they do mess around/change their minds.

If it was just a male booking your natural reaction would be very different.

Personally I don't think you should look at it any differently, they've seen your site/services, know what you do etc. I don't see why you should be giving away your time.

I think this is correct. I am being a bit blinded because I really like playing with established couples. I said that I could deduct it from the fee but she wasn't having any of it - she seems to think that he's the client, not her, and I'm like...well you're not my friend. I'm not meeting up with you for free. I have enough friends.

That doesn't sound too good, she should fully understand and above anything respect that you don't work for free in any way

I think you have had a great escape.  The woman has totally shown her true colours.

Being a suspicious person I'm wondering if they had something more sinister in mind. Hmmm !
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

I have found that with couples sometimes the woman can be more demanding than the man, and also expect to become friends which can be nice if you get on, but difficult when you are wanting to do some paid work and no thank you you don't want to meet up for a chat.

Possibly - or else she just has a deluded idea of what I'm on AW for. I do not want to be your friend, mystery woman.

They've cancelled the booking now - unexpected work trip blah blah blither. Gave me enough notice to rebook the day though, so could be worse.

I agree lady lust, I had a situation arise with a couple when I first started and was very naive, I don't want to go into details but I'll say that I'm bloody grateful I have a mum I can talk to who is a lot more switched on than me
