Visiting USA.
« on: 01 June 2024, 01:46:19 pm »
Hey, not sure if this has been posted before - apologies if so.

I am looking to join my family on a trip to New York January 2025. (I WOULDNT be working there). However, I’ve seen a lot of scaremongering posts on X/Reddit & TikTok about how border agents won’t let you in if you are an escort.

I was going to list myself as unemployed on my visa but i am just worried that I will get there and get turned away and my family will find out. Is there anyone that has been to USA within the last year that can help me? X

What are you listed as on your tax return?

Please DO NOT put unemployed, as the immigration officials would flag you as an entry risk and make you prove that you have the financial backing to travel to the USA.

An unemployed person, especially young, is seen as a risk of overstaying or trying to work illegally.

I would list holistic therapy or some occupation to avoid being denied entry.

I believe you have to complete an ESTA visa to travel to the USA .they wanted my   work information etc as I've just had to complete mine for sept travel. I do work in a regular job too.
Do use homeland security website though as some sites ask for  alot of money to pay for it. It should be $14 no more.

You do need an esta. Please be aware that there are loads of sites that charge triple to do an esta for you.. I know from experience unfortunately :/ should only cost about £12 (not £48!!)

Hi,
Hope you are well.
I go two or three time a year in the US. I am a European citizen .I do the Esta first from their website. Then I plan my trips . Most questions they ask me when i cross the border:What is the purpose of my trip , how long i intend to stay , where do I stay, how much money i have during my trip. What kind of job i am
doing in London ? They never ask me to prove my job , only one time i was asked the name of the company and name of my manager but not sure he tooke a note of it. I work part time employee and  also being a self employed. So only mentioned my part time job.
Hope that help.keep a copy of your hotel room booking and plane
ticket , that can help to prove your saying .

Young woman, unemployed and with family ties to the US raises more red flags to the border agents than a commie parade. "Stress consultant" will make them think you're taking the piss. Get a solid story as back up, beautician or mobile beauty therapist working in a salon or whatever you write on your tax return. They may ask more questions or not (name of the business, how long you've been doing it) so do you homework and have a backup solid story. If you say you're an escort or admit any ties to see industry they'll send you back to the UK. Sometimes they'll ask for your phone to look at browsing history, emails and corroborate your story, again... any sexy  photos, adult websites, messages with clients or ties to the sex industry will get you back.
Mornings were made for sleeping, wild sex and bacon.

Yes do not put unemployed - have your story straight - and wipe your phone before you go if you’re that worried.

in addition to wiping your phone and computer, i suggest not taking/hiding any sim card who's number is linked to any ads. they extracted my sim data and reverse searched it and it led to a review which included phone number, that's how they got me. 3year ban.

Actually, i wouldn't even take gadgets related to SW, they can download even deleted items from the drive if they wanted to and you are unlucky

I got kicked out of Australia years ago 😂

So definitely take a “clean phone with you

Put your usual contacts friend / family but make sure no escort friends

Get friends family to text you stuff so your phone  looks normal 😂😂 and you haven’t wiped it clean

Omg they’re allowed to look at your phone and browsing history?!

It's not a question of 'allowed'. They just do it if they want to, and they can find anything that is in there. Even if deleted. Unless it has been overwritten. But that doesn't happen to everything.

The only reliable solution is to take a new phone that has never been used to access any site or numbers that cannot arouse suspicion. But even a clean phone is suspicious if it has only been used for a few days.

Oh and don’t have any escort friends saved as contacts

If they google these people they might find their website / details and assume the worse

I went to New York in 2019 with the only phone I had but with a different sim from my working number. Had no problems whatsoever.
