am loathe to set up an alternative payment method as I understand the pre-paid cards come with hefty withdrawal fees
I don?t feel they are particularly hefty, yes there are fees, such as $2 USD Standard Load etc but that is normal with most financial institutions.

Perhaps having funds paid directly in a UK/EU bank account that doesn't incur fees and then having to pay some fees seems hefty when you haven?t had to pay before. But its not really.

Well you can get your money the same way as that lady - apply for a Payoneer card and when it arrives transfer the credits to it. Then just withdraw at an ATM.

It would seem I can not as when I go to apply it tells me they are not paying out in GBP -  only in dollars or euros!

IF I read it right ? PacNet in USA suspended all countries, apart from USA. So providers in the USA have not been effected by this, (whatever method they choose to be paid by).

As the Payoneer Mastercard is issued in the USA (& therefore its currency is in USD) their card has allowed anyone (in whatever country they are) to circumnavigate this problem & get their sticky mitts on their wonga! (via ATMs). Some would rather pay a few squids then have their wonga stuck in limbo! Each to their own.

Hey Bexy,

I see what you mean, I guess my concern was that there would be a further loss of cash not only with the fees but with the conversion from USD to GBP via Payoneer alongside varying charges for withdrawals depending on the ATM used... The preference I guess would be to withdraw as much as possible in one go in order to minimise any losses, but I suppose ATMs have a withdrawal limit which would probably mean having to incur the charges a few times. It may seem petty but when you've already had to wait longer than expected and weren't notified of the issue in the first place it kinda stings! I've always been happy with AW but they're hard to pin down with stuff like this.

Bella

Edited to add: having had a closer look, it seems that Payoneer charge a fee to withdraw and a fee for currency conversion, but the issuer of the ATM that you choose to use may also impose a charge since there's a conversion taking place? Confusing.

Re ATM limit, I read elsewhere that folk have been able to take out about ?700 (GBP) in one go.. I THINK.. or thereabouts, I personally have never used it to take out that amount of cash (as I've never had that amount in there), I only have ever used it as a Plan B sort of thing, which has come in handy.

I also have a EU account and when I take money out of that via a (UK) ATM I can take out about ?600 (GBP) or so in one go (I assume because it is coming from an overseas account, it doesn't come under the ?300 per day allowance (or whatever it is, I think each UK bank differs slightly with the amount).

Also my EU a/c is partnered with Nat West & RBS and so when I take out money from it I use their ATMs, because there is NO fee to withdraw (RBS m/c's are outside all Tesco's with RBS on them!) -- also, I notice on the screen (& on the receipt if I get one) it always states at the ATM how much/the remainder cash I can take out that day - it will state something like you have a remaining balance of ?575 euro that can be withdrawn today (obv the amount they state I can take out depends on what I have in there).

But that is a Euro a/c.

Payoneer fees, yes $2 standard load plus Payoneer ATM withdrawal charge, plus the Bank's own ATM fee (it will usually tell you what it is BEFORE you proceed to withdraw).

I usually look at my Payoneer balance online before I go to the ATM (as there is a $1 dollar charge!) and its free online, I also do currency conversion beforehand so I know how much I can take out when I get there (remembering to account for any ATM fees).

Remember too that it will show you the amount that is in there in USD and not GBP, when I first got the card I made the mistake of trying to withdraw the amount the ATM was saying was in there, I wasn't vigilant enough to spot the $ sign so my transaction got Declined and I paid Decline fee, $1 lol - its all trial & error & meant to keep us on our toes!

Anyway, yes it costs a few pounds but the 'trick' is to try and take it all out in hit!

Hopefully AW is back to normal this week & it will be business as usual and the last week will quickly become a dim & distant memory & that this time next year week we will all be saying, remember that time when we couldn't get paid when AW processor went tits belly up!

If anyone still has payments pending for bank transfer there is now the option to add your address which may be required when payments start going through again.
We're women, it's what we do. I just get paid for it.

UPDATE - We have been asked to submit our UK Bank payments to the new processing company.  This means that they can no longer be converted into Payoneer, Paxum or PayToo.  It is our belief that these payments will be effected over the course of Thursday and Friday.  Update to follow mid-morning Thursday.

Again we would like to apologise for the inconvenience this is causing you.  We are fully aware of the impact this will be having on your lives and wellbeing and are doing our utmost to get matters resolved.

I just submitted a transfer yesterday to my new paxum account, do you think they will still go through with that? Also did anyone else create a Paxum account just to get their payment while this is all going down? I have and am quite anxious that I might somehow lose all my money because I've never used it before and my account still isn't even validated.

Seems like anyone with payments pending for their UK bank account should get them next week:

    Thursday PM

UK Bank Transfers

Payment instructions for UK bank transfers that were due for payment on 27 September and 4 October have been submitted to a new payment processor.  This means they cannot now be converted into Payoneer, Paxum or PayToo requests.

Due to the number of payees that need to be verified by the new processor, payments will not start to be made into bank accounts until Monday 10 October.  We have been assured that all payees should receive their funds by Wednesday 12 October at the latest.  We are taking all steps possible to reduce this delay at any cost.

This extra delay was only made known to us after we had submitted the payment instructions.  Several parties in the chain were not aware this delay would be encountered.  Future weeks' payments will not be subject to such delays due to there only being a small number of new payees each week.

We will submit payments due on Tuesday 11 October to the new processor but it is inevitable that they will join the backlog of the previous two weeks' payments.  Whilst not expecting huge delays, best case it will be the end of the week before those funds are received into bank accounts.
