Precautions when travelling abroad to someone
« on: 09 April 2024, 08:37:29 pm »
Hey, so I’ve recently been approached by a gent and he wants me to visit him in Dubai… he has already paid me upfront for the trip and I don’t get a bad vibe at all. But because he has already paid me I almost feel like it’s too good to be true😅

Does anyone know what precautions I should take and what checks I can do?
I have checked CE and there’s nothing. I’ve also FaceTimed him many of times but it’s my first time doing something like this.

Sorry if this has already been posted x

Obviously some things are the same as any outcall here; make sure somebody always knows exactly where you are and if it's a longer booking, arrange times to check in and confirm everything's OK. Have a completely bombproof contingency plan in the event that something goes wrong.

Wherever you're arriving, find out where Left Luggage or the equivalent is, and lock your personal stuff (passport, house keys, some cash and a credit card just in case - I'd leave a spare phone too) away safely so there's no way the punter can get at it. That way you don't need to take anything with you to the booking itself bar work stuff :).

Hi,
Hope you are well.
I would say , ask him a copy of his passport. You take a lot of risks in a country you don t know ,so he can do that for you and understand you need to feel secure .Also give the copy of that to a friend you can trust . Book your own hotel room yourself with your own money and meet him there first  before going to his place . Make sure you have reasonable money with you in case he change his behaviour and leave you suddenly. Make sure he
pays all your fees including service before you fly there . Mostly don t be too emotional because you are abroad. If he is not nice ,just go home .hope you have a flexible ticket , so you can fly earlier if things go wrong.

That would be my advice , and my opinion .
