Unusual request from client

I’ve seen this one client once before. He sent very detailed instructions for both our meeting and where to park. He seems to like to control things to the nth detail. The first time I could park on the drive but had to walk around the house to get in. Odd but okay.
He booked again two weeks ago and said he’d send me further instructions closer to the time of booking (next week). The latest parking instructions are to park a fair distance away( by a school) on a main road. I don’t know the area well and schools are always awful to find a space by from experience. Even if I get a space right near his road, it’s still a seven minute walk. I’m going to have to leave early to make sure I can find the right parking.

I’ve had one other person ask me to park a few doors down but never that far away. And by a school.

Am I being prissy? I don’t know why but it just seems too specific.

Not at all, he's being ridiculous. It's fine to request that you be discreet or not park on the drive but telling you exactly where to park is going to far. My advice is to park where you want and if he brings it up tell him it's none of his business.

Clients don't tell me what to do and that includes where I park my car.
If he's so concerned about you being seen (in his little paranoid delusional mind) tell him to book a hotel room and and you'll meet him there.
Personally, his ridiculous request is enough to send me over the edge and I wouldn't see him but I'm a fussy bitch.

He lives on a really quiet cul-de-sac. Apart from the drive, there isn’t really anywhere else bar barking several roads away(by this school)

Before I downloaded CE, I accepted his booking. Afterwards I checked his number and he had a complaint for stalking/turning up randomly. This is why such a detailed request have given me alarm bells. I’m on alert for unusual behaviour.

How would you broach the parking?

Block him. He's got a report for stalking (which wasn't in your first post) I'm not obviously aware of your circumstances but if you can afford not to see him then don't.

What she said. Someone who sends you far far away is a control freak who's up to no good. Plus you just confirmed he's a bad apple on the reviews/warnings. In his mind it's OK to send the lady parking 10 mins away but it's OK to stalk and show up unannounced? So ladies have to be extremely discreet but it's OK from him not to be. This guy is a bad apple and I would steer clear but that's just me.

If I had seen his review before I had a first booking, I wouldn’t have entertained it. But as he was nice enough at the booking, when I did finally check his number, it was a bit off putting.  I last saw him six weeks ago and in all honesty thought I’d never see him again.
My screening is a lot better now and my gut instinct is getting better too.

He booked a few weeks ago but only yesterday sent the “details”. I feel
A bit shitty cancelling but it’s reassuring to hear from others that I’m not being a drama queen.

Definitely not being a drama queen.

I would ask him to send extra money beforehand to cover a taxi to his house and back. Have the return taxi pre booked and you can make a swift exit bang on time.

Yeah that's one red flag too many and I'd be cancelling him too. Don't ever feel bad about cancelling or refusing someone based on anything like this or even if they just give you an iffy feeling. I've found if you're not sure it's best to not see them if you have the option.
