Great to see the site back up and running  ;D

Unfortunately I couldn't even get on to the Saafe homepage so I used WHOIS to find the webmaster email address as it was showing I was suspended.

I do agree that a tweet in the instance that the website is down/back up would be a good idea.

Thanks to everyone who were working behind the scenes to fix the issue  :-*

I've no idea why you couldn't get on the main site Jennifer, but it was completely unaffected and live throughout. Whatever the problem was was nothing to do with this and the suspension related only to the forum.

Janitor has made it clear where any information will be in the event that anything goes wrong, so people can choose to ignore her or not. I'm used to it ;D.

I also couldn't get on the main site. I just got a pop up asking for a username and password. Which I didn't enter in case the site had been hacked!

Me and friend also couldn't get past the main page. We were promoted with log in details. I kept on checking Twitter too. I saw that other saafe users were experiencing the same. Next time, just type in the word 'saafe' into the search box and you'll see others that have tweeted to each other.

Well I had no trouble getting on the main site any time I tried, but since it was a working day and a fairly busy one I wasn't trying every ten minutes. From what I know of the situation (and that's certainly not any of the technical stuff), the server had a problem which resulted in the forum being suspended, the problem needed to be fixed and then checked by the tech people who suspended it (which is when the password box was popping up, although I only ever had it for the forum) and once it was, it was back.

I'm sure when janitor gets back online she'll be able to confirm any details, but this is starting to get a bit circular now. Nobody has been hacked, so anybody who is concerned about that please don't be :).

Same here. The pop up didn't have the usual SAAFE pink background, it was just a white box.

Unfortunately we suffered a large downtime today, due in part somebody trying to hammer the site and overload things. In these instances the site closes to prevent further problems,

Who or why anyone would be interested in hammering the site?  call me nosey bitch. sorry just curious.

Where I live, attacks on advert sites and pro-sexwork forums are commonplace by the antis. Probably something similar.

I also couldn't access the main site yesterday.  Found out by asking a member on here on another forum.  Glad that the site is back up and running.
Thank you Janitor for all your hard work in getting the site back up again, and to the moderators who fielded emails and calls from the rest of us to find out what was happening.

Has anyone else experience this at all.?
Today is the first time I've accesses through an old link
Why would this suddenly happen after all these months ?
