too good to be true non sexual escort agency?
« on: 17 July 2009, 08:37:00 pm »
Hi,

I've come across this agency www.nonsexualescorts.co.uk and wondering if anyone has had any experience with it, positive or negative.  Many thanks!

That one has nothing directly wrong on the site - they don't ask you for money on it - but they do say you get all the money the client pays.

Where do they get their money from? It can only be you... I'd be interested to know how much, but whatever it is, it's unlikely to be worth it.

They're also companion-directory.co.uk (where the 'how to book a date' page is blank!)

'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

There is very little call for non-sexual escorts so I doubt you'd get a lot of work from it, if indeed any at all, no matter what they say. And as Ian says, even if you were lucky enough to get work, if you only charge ?50-?60 an hour, how much of that would you have to pay the agency back?  Because you do have to pay the agency a commision.

You can try and sign up for it. As long as they don't ask you for any money upfront and as long as you're aware of how much you can make.

This one seems to say it doesn't charge commission on bookings. As I said, this is a bad sign because they have to make their money from somewhere and that leaves either charging clients (making it even less likely you'll get work) or you (making it a scam).

I'm slightly surprised that there no men on the site or women not fitting the conventional stereotype what's pretty - most scams will take anyone's money - so it is possible that I've misunderstood and they are a real agency.

If they are, Brandy is right about the (lack of) demand.

Thanks to all for the advice.  I emailed asking for more info and they say that they take ?10 per hour out of the ?60 fee.  They ask for a  ?20 initial registration fee.

While this is a small amount to risk, I would also be skeptical about whether there is actually any demand for this kind of service.

I'm not sure why you have to pay them a registration fee, as little as it sounds. Legitimate escort agencies don't, why should they?
Maybe it's just a more subtle way of scamming money from the more unsuspecting newbies, instead of the more obvious ones that get you for ?300. In any case, as I say, I'm not that sure there's a high demand for social escorting.

One of the longest-running 'non sexual escort agency' scams aimed at men, Cavendish Knights, charges ?17.75 for a 'security check'. It's not much, but it all adds up, especially when you have thousands of victims.

I'm particularly pleased at having worked out that, because of how they handle things, they're either illegally evading VAT (unlikely) or must have less than one job per 'escort' every five years or so (highly likely, given the real level of demand).

They're also known as siguk.co.uk he says to catch anyone searching for that.
