Yep, I would use a cheap fleece or throw rather than a towel. Something reversible.

Bear in mind reversible means once you turn it it’s making contact with your bed. 😱
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

I bring a whole load from home that I pay to get laundered as I am pretty high flow (around 8 people a day that I see 4 days a week) and most of them have a shower at some point even if they live close and showered at home I offer one at the end of each booking as its my signal that the booking is over too. I also bulk buy cheap fleece blankets that I put on the bed that I buy from Primark to protect the bed and pillows. For me its essential I have these things I couldn't work without having the towels and I just don't like the uncertainty or anxiety of not having everything I need for my stay as I use somewhere that isn't near any shops or amenities as in the end the amount of towels id be taking would look like I am having a towel convention with mayor Mc'towelie  :P

If you have around 4 or less bookings a day I think its not so bad and you can just take from the trollies. Once I thought I nabbed a big bunch of body towels and they ended up being bath mats and hand towels and I was too chicken to nip out again and try to get the right kind ::)

I just get too paranoid personally so bringing my own is just for my own peace of mind!

I wish I could drive then I’d take more towels. I’m hotels I always hope they are freshly showered and won’t require a shower after. I usually ask for more towels after a day

I have this problem too, I travel by train and/or bus. Plus I usually shoot content too when on tour, so I also have outfits etc for that, plus tripod etc. I will also have some food stuff packed as well to keep costs down. My case is always full and weighs a ton as it is without adding in even more things

When I drive I then have to go back and forth from car park to room, sometimes going by train with its limits is in some ways easier.

You can get super absorbent light weight towels on EBay
The biggest ones 180 x 130 are about £5 and this is large bath towel size
The best thing is they are very thin but dry clients easily
6 -8 of these towels would roughly equal 1big fluffy bath towel in terms of space in a suitcase
If you do get them check the sizes as some can be small but they are excellent value for money and great for touring
