To blur or not to blur...
« on: 24 August 2009, 02:10:59 am »

That's the question!  I'm trying to determine what to do for my new pictures. I ended up with some beautiful new pics from a recent shoot with Ella Studios and want to highlight as much of the picture as possible without giving too much away in the face department.

Thing is on some my hair/makeup and the setting just look so nice I don't necessarily want to cut the top off mid cheek... And have considered blurring the eyes instead. I am simply concerned over the increased risk (perceived or not) of being identified by friends and loved ones who don't know I work in the sex industry.

 Any thoughts? x

Blurring the eyes on some will work.  I don't use face shots but I have seen some really great ones where just the eye area has been blurred.  I doubt anyone would recognize you from the pics, as they are only getting half your face.

Ooh, ooh, let's see please. Glad to hear you're happy with your pics. Feel free to post a couple in the "blather and babble" section if you like.

As for blurring, I know what you mean. Like most Black women I have full, lucious lips, which I consider to be one of my best selling points for a variety of reasons, so I don't have a full facial blur, just my eyes. If you want to highlight the bits that you think look great, can you not see what it's like first with a full blur then a partial blur? Just so that you can be totally satisfied that you can't be recognised. Maybe do it with one picture to give you an idea.

:D   ;)  I think Im going to zoom in on my lips too on this next photo shoot LOL. I tried blurring my face in some photos, but I thought it looks scary. Like my face was warped or something and it was done by a professional photoshop wizard. I prefer the half-faces LOL. But I do like my hair showing  :(

Just the quickest of warnings that some blurs can be undone...
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Yeah... I might photoshop the hell out of my features first- whoever unblurs a particular one is going to think 'holy hell that nose enters the room before she does'

safety sake it may be wisest to crop it

For Indies I think blurring is much more excepted by the clients for agencies its more difficult as so many clients have used agencies with fake photos or they have sent a completly different girl.

Blur as much as what you feel comfortable with I use adobe photoshop 7 which you can pick up really cheap now!
