Tips for very first hotel incall
« on: 11 May 2013, 02:06:50 pm »
Hi ladies,

I've decided to book a hotel for two days next week for incalls as my outcall work has been a bit slow. This is the first time I'm doing this and I've had a good look through the site about the sort of hotel to choose. I just wondered if anyone had any tips or advice that wasn't so obvious or something small I could do that would make a big difference?

Maddie

Always get the guys to your floor and ask them to ring from there, I never give room number out till I know there on my floor . After bad experiences where guys have pretended to be there. Have a look at the decor and ask them a question they could only know if there. I used to give them room number if I could see them out side, but I had a few guys drop me in it and say where they were going!! This is for your security and decent guys always understand this, also you can be ready at the door to open, I tell them to open door like its there room and not to knock, but you will get the odd one who ignores these rules!!  If you have a gym in the same direction as lifts these are the best, then if a guys a nervous type I explain this and say they could carry a bag on there shoulder, but this is rare.. Key holes are always best. I always book hotel for 2 people, I always have nappy sacks, you don't want any smells and I dispose of rubbish when I can,I tend to keep low profile in day of quiet hotels but that's me.i think that's it really as it all depends on hotel, but the most important is the make sure you don't give room number till your sure they are there .

If you like your tea and coffee take a large mug most hotels have small crappy ones where one swig and it's gone, try and nick towels, leave don't disturb on when with a guy, I sometimes leave on all day, but then sometimes felt its drawing attention to my room, lot of girls might disagree, but with me it depends on hotel ..get everything you need for day in morning, so you don't have to keep going out.i will prob keep remembering more but can't think at mo! Oh always have good hiding place where someone would never look. Keep phone low or vibrate. Urmmmmm?

I agree best not to keep going out. My friend, who smokes, was in and out every five minutes.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

I was always using hotels next to services  so would pop into WHSmith Waitrose etc  and get what needed foods and magazines to pass the time, I do make sure i have enough towels and drinks also for myself and clients. water or coke. I hide certain things out of sight and then wait for the phone to ring, also dispose of rubbish myself bring own litter bags to hide the evidence at the end of the day!

And don't even leave innocent things like glasses lying around a weirdo nicked mine.or your toothbrush..!! I remember Amy had a tip if you let cleaners do your room , put 2 toothbrushes in a glass, to give illusion of 2 people staying, which I thought was top tip, but I hide away!!

Hi all,

I'm also doing my first hotel incall next week and I was wondering at what point should I let clients know that it's a hotel rather than apartment/house. Should I mention it in advertising or when they phone?
Thanks all, and to Maddie - Best of luck to you, hopefully it'll go smoothly for the both of us.

Lady v do tell them and let them know in advance give them the choice ok, i tend to put this on my tour details too . but don't name the hotel  or room until client makes definite booking .

i kinda agree, but then I like to tell them on phone, as some may read hotel and it just put them off straight away , some guys just need to be put at ease , that there's nothing to feel nervous about. I've talked quiet a few guys into seeing me, when as I've said hotel, they nearly say I will leave it, also if you did have dodgy hotel( there rare) they can see instantly your staying in hotel, I think best get them to ring, then tell them your in a hotel

Thanks to both of you,

Orchid - Sorry if my wording wasn't clear - I'm not planning on tricking them to my hotel! I just meant when they phone to book, not the confirmation call.

Sadie - that's pretty much what I was thinking, but I'm still so new at everything so it's nice to have a little reassurance from experienced ladies.

I love the way there are always several different viewpoints, I just need to see one person who already works the way I want to and is successful. If everyone says no don't do this then it's rethink time!

I not only tell them, but I plaster the word HOTEL all over my advertising in as prominent a way as I can manage - I have had it three times in one paragraph in capital letters before just because the thick phone calls barking 'hotel or apartment?' at me without even saying hello drive me nuts. If a punter doesn't want to come to my hotel and would rather the whole world knew what he was doing as the tenth person to enter X apartment that day then that's his business, but I'm not wasting my time answering the phone to him when others might be trying to get through.

Anyway, I'd certainly agree on the mug and I take my own tea and coffee too as hotel stuff is always shite. My work phone is always on vibrate (it's been so long since I had it ringing I can't even remember what my ringtone is :)) and I would also agree with going out on a morning and getting your stuff for the day, although if I read it right the OP is talking about an incall day rather than touring.

There's quite of a lot of this sort of stuff in the Touring article on the main site, but one I would add just for now is that if ypou're given a room with a connecting door, move. I've just had to do precisely this - I arrived at my hotel this afternoon and didn't really notice it because I was watching the FA Cup, but God did I know about it when a family with shrieking brats checked in next door. I was out and in a proper room within fifteen minutes - they were rattling the door handle trying to open it and if I'd had a punter in it would have been mortifying.

Yes, I have mine both here ;D. I make sure I'm out early so the cleaners can get on and then I don't have to have the DND sign on all day, but I try to use hotels where there's a swing bolt or a chain so the door won't open if somebody does decide to march in, and I put the sign on just for bookings if there isn't one.

Another thing I do is carry a gaudy-looking gift bag with Happy Birthday or something plastered all over it when I check in - you can put your lunch in it and then just fold a scarf or something and put it over the top (so it looks like you're off to a family do or whatever) but this really isn't necessary outside the dodgier/more difficult places.

The smoking ban has been good for us in the sense that people are wanting to come in and out at all times of the day and night plus there's often people milling about in the entrances, even if it is unutterably foul to walk through.
