Lube is something I've never needed except when my estrogen gets low, Hormones go hand in hand with stress and as we get older we can get more dry due to estrogen dropping, I get my hormones tested twice a year and take bio identical estrogen which helps me so much with keeping moist. I'm not old but when my estrogen drops due to my health I can get so sore and for me it's the bit from my perineum to vagina opening not inside and it's so painful. But I suppose we are not designed to have sex X amount of times a day so it makes sense to get sore, Just like jaw ache if I had to do many BJs. Does lube ever cause thrush or internal good bacteria to go AWOL? Hope you get along with the lube and great advice but if it doesn't help then go to gp, Not exactly easy at all these days, And get your hormones tested to see if you have low estrogen as it may be a vaginal estrogen cream that will keep you moist. When I was 35 I had a boyfriend and we did it often but I started getting so sore that it was really painful, Got tests and a prescription cream for my intimate area and it worked a treat. I know we are all different but sometimes it can be good to check, No point in suffering pain for work.

The point is that using lube regardless of whether you need it or not makes it consistent and easier. There's a lot less pulling and pushing on your body parts.

I've not had any trouble caused by lube at all, but maybe just lucky. Others might have different experiences. I avoid silicone based ones though. They are more slippy and really easy to use, but resistant to washing out of sheets etc. Water based lube doesn't linger on bedclothes, at least the ones I've used, and it washes away in the bath easily afterwards.

Few drops of tea tree oil on a tampon overnight. It’s really soothing (believe or not) and restores your PH balance

I had a bad case of thrush years ago and I was in so much pain one night and had no over the counter creams at home. Searched for natural remedies and tried this. Works a treat for me every time if I’m feeling sore inside and has a cooling sensation

OP you mentioned feeling a "ball like" swelling at the entrance to your vagina. This sounds like it could be a Bartholin's cyst. If you can have a look in a mirror and compare to Google images, I would see a GP or call the Sexual health centre if you think it may be that.

I was experiencing a lot of vaginal pain a couple of years ago with clients, even if they weren't particularly large. These are the things I did to help:
1. Worked on really improving my oral skills and domination services so as to have less bookings which include sex (I managed to make oral-only and dom bookings well over 50% of my work)
2. Banned fingering completely
3. Experimented with different lubes - my favourite now is ID Millennium. It's also completely tasteless and ordourless. Lube before any penetration, always
4. Put in my FAQs that I don't like big cocks, and if a client turns up with something I can't handle, then we won't be having PIV. I would rather partially (or even fully) refund a client than put myself in such pain that I can't take any more bookings
5. Used BV Active pessaries after a busy day, leave in overnight (but wear period knickers to bed as otherwise it leaks onto your sheets)

However the thing that seems to have made the most difference is two-fold: stopping drinking alcohol, which was exacerbating my menopause symptoms, and coming off Depo provera. I'd been on Depo for over 10 years and vaginal dryness is a known side effect. I've never lubricated much all my life, no matter how turned on I am, so being on depo was like a double whammy (but worth it to never have periods.) Now it's out of my system, I've found it much easier to handle sex.
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes

Second that. Haven’t offered fingering in years. The amount of men that probably don’t scrub their nails properly during hand washing! Also I find that a lot of men are very poor at fingering, which can cause you all sorts of problems.

Thank you guys!
The KY jelly lube worked really well. I’m going to try a few other soothing techniques. I’ve unfortunately always been dry, ever since I was young.
I only get naturally wet if I’m super turned on.
