I think it depends on where you are. If its somewhere like London then yes it could be a problem for some, but if it's somewhere where all residential areas are a good distance from the station then clients will probably be used to it.

I like to have at least one station within a 10 minute walk. Especially when it's bad weather, the walk may put people off.

Yes I agree depends on your situation. They can be impatient and nervous sometimes and can go off the boil if it's too long. I aim for 5 minute walk max. Mine is now 2 mins from the station, even that's too  long for some and I do tell them to forget it if they get moody about the shortest walk ever.

I talk them through on the phone as I don't give them the street name at all so would find it a pain to keep to and fro instructions for 15 minutes.

Idk wether to rule it out or just get it because it’s nice and it fits all other criteria and it’s been hard finding the exact one  ??? ???

If you're within ten minutes' walk of one station and fifteen from a further two and everything else is perfect, I'd likely give it a go provided the price was reasonable. It does also depend on how you work to some degree - if you mainly take bookings in advance rather than at short notice (less than an hour or two, say) then I think it's less important too. It also depends which part of town you're in - Chelsea has shit transport connections, but I always assumed it's because the locals either swan around in their 4x4s or take cabs everywhere :D.

I'm two minutes' or so from my nearest station and have another three or four within five (plus four mainline stations and God knows how many underground stations within ten minutes) but that was pure dumb luck and I pay well for it. If the nearest station is nine minutes and it's an easy, straightforward walk (and preferably serves at least two different lines) I'd think it would be OK. If the weather is that bad they can get cabs :).

I know this is rather off topic but one time a client came to see me, and kept prattling on how he was 'born and bred' in Chelsea, and further on in the booking I mentioned something about taking the bus, and he yanked himself away from me and said "the BUS?? But I didn't think you were like that!"

Hahaha  ;D
