Am I over cautious?.....
« on: 26 June 2024, 08:26:18 am »

Probably no need to ask that as I know I probably am.  As for anyone working in a private apartment I like to be super discrete and yes I am that and probably then some LOL

When punters have booked then confirmed they get a text detailing where to park, then they get the rest of the info once they've parked.

Why is it they have to then play guess the building name especially when the postcode I give them doesn't even suggest what complex (and there's several) I'm in.  It makes me so nervous so I end up cancelling them.

Or

You send them the postcode to park in a popular landmark and they are like 'ooo I hope I don't get lost' . FFS if you can't find your way with those details you've got no chance finding my apartment which again gives me visions of them wondering around the complex sticking out like a sore thumb.

Just bloody park....why the narrative!!!   :FF :FF

Rant over   ;D

Omg I am  exactly the same and then some. I remember one guy coming into my apartment building and starting to climb the stairs when I'd told him I was on the ground floor. I had to go out and get him, pull him into my flat and then I had a right go at him and banned him on the spot. Those ones that can't follow simple instructions make my blood boil because I'm super discreet (paranoid).

I had one come to my hotel a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find the bloody hotel entrance. He was walking around saying so, so I told him to leave and I wasn't going to see him. He even said he tried a door and it was locked but he had tried the service door. I panic when these things happen and won't see them.

Yes I have heard all of this, some told me after arrival "I thought you were over in [another type of building, different street]".

I explain I will give them everything, my directions are designed so that they find me - that the couple who haven't have not given themselves enough time, didn't read the instructions.

My directions text gives my postcode and the instruction to call from the corner of A street and B street where Landmark X is (so basically an exact point where two streets intersect), and they still get it wrong.

I get them calling from the other end of A street so I have no idea where they are, or they walk around the corner to the other end of B street nowhere near my building. Or they go over to Landmark X and wander about looking lost, which is my personal favourite (along with the Journey Narrators who talk constantly and won't listen).

I was once working from a hotel which was opposite one with a similar name (same chain), and made it very clear in texts which one I was in with a brief description and also saying 'the abc hotel NOT the xyz hotel'. At least a couple still fucked it up, and I threw one out after he was so late I couldn't do the 45 minutes he'd booked and he refused to pay for it. Muppet.

Some people are just really bad at directions. I have a client like this. He told me once he was getting directions on the phone and he was literally outside the escorts house and told her he couldn't find it. She opened the door and told him to turn around.

He also said Google maps is not always correct and one time put the postcode in But it was at least a ten minute walk from the correct place.

Not just me thank god.  :D Yes them getting lost is an absolute nightmare, hence I give the details in 3 phases now as in a new place, the last phase being by phone call.  And if they have already instilled a lack of confidence in me by preempting that they may get lost I just cancel them.  Haven't got the patience  :FF
