Hi there,

I previously advertised as an ethnic minority and was fairly popular (I am actually that ethnicity but can pass off as British or Mediterranean as I am very fair skinned) but found the racist connotations a bit too much. Have since retired.

I am considering whether to come back as British or my ethnicity. There is a lack of this ethnic minority in providers so could be popular (as before), but unsure whether for my own peace of mind its better to stick to being British with this persona?

Also does anybody have experience of changing and it working out better financially? In a bit of sticky situation atm.

Thank you in advance x

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking SF - being British (or French, or American) is nothing to do with your ethnic origin and being 'pale' has nothing to do with being British - do you mean nationality? I daresay you can claim to come from anywhere you like, but if you're going to put an ad on Adultwork I think they show your nationality automatically once they've made you verify :).

Why not advertise as British but play up your heritage? This is what I have done to a degree, although have been a little vague about my heritage and talk about being an interesting mix of x, y and z.

I'm white British because I am 'white' and hold a British passport. However, my ethnicity actually puts me in a different ethic group and I often tick that option when filling in 'official' forms as I feel this identity is important and needs to be recorded. However, I choose not to advertise as that as it is something that can a) be fetishised and b) be targeted by hate groups and having had experience of this in my non-escorting life, I most certainly am not going to open myself up to this kind of abuse/the kind of client who is looking to tick someone off a list.

This is more along the lines of what I meant. I too am British by nationality but ethnically am another group that can open myself up to fetishisation etc hence why I am skeptical as advertising as such. I have never not claimed my British identity and always advertised as this particular ethnicity so just wondered if it seems better to just advertise as British

Sorry if I am not making myself clear, I have British nationality so come up on AW as British but was just wondering if it would be better to advertise as British or as my true ethnicity in order to get more bookings etc but I guess its just up to individual tastes

Stick to British, it's easier.

FWIW, a few of my clients do know my heritage but that's something I have chosen to share with them because I have been seeing them for a long time/they have the same heritage too. But it's privileged information that I choose to share and isn't something advertised and nor would I ever advertise it.

Well I am half Colombian and half Danish, I was born here in the UK and lived Down Under for quite a bit of my life so people just presume I am English with a twang. I presume from your profile name you are South American, do whatever works best for you  ;).

Bear in mind that a lot of trafficked girls are now being advertised as "Brazilian" by their pimps (to avoid the sadly bad connotations of EE) so putting your nationality as Latina (I'm assuming by your username!) may put some off.

If fetisisation of your race grosses you out then I would definitely not mention it. If you're happy working the "spicy Latina" angle then give it a try?

(BTW I could technically claim to be Asian but I've never lived within that culture and it would feel like cultural appropriation)
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes
The undiscovered continent for you to undress
