Has anyone found that using Hydromol/aqueous cream helps prevent thrush?

I started putting on my vagina every night after work for the past few months and I've found that I'm getting thrush far less.

I have t read the entire thread but I wanted to just add my own thrush/Uti Rick management as it really is the bane of our lives in this career!  I used to suffer with thrush a lot and badly. I swear by a feminine wash called Lactayd. It has cut down recurrent thrush for me and actually helps to soothe it sometimes if I do get it. It's available in some boots stores and defo online at boots, and some other random chemists.

I stock up on it when I see it  and I don't ever wash with anything else ever down there. I also never use baby wipes on myself and I always excuse myself to freshen up with lactacyd between 'rounds' during a booking, and ask the client to freshen up between rounds also. I always make sure I take a pee between rounds to flush out any bacteria from general sex stuff. This m has cut out cystitis right down for me.

On top of these things I pop one of those bv gel things in once a week when working, maybe twice if doing a higher than usual volume,  to keep ph levels good. I also taste a little bit of any lube I buy and if it tastes at all sweet or sugary I won't use it. Currently I use sensilube and non latex condoms.

I'm careful not to let guys be too rough or have prolonged excessive friction by fingers, sex or oral these days after learning the hard way. I'm not being out of work for 3/4 days just to save offending one guy who is likely being too rough anyway. If they can't have sex without causing my body issues or damage I have no problem with just moving to a hand job to finish.

Most important I think, is not getting run down and eating a good diet. When I eat a lot of bread and drink alcohol more than usual, or having late nights and not enough sleep, I am definitely more thrush prone so a nicely balanced lifestyle definitely helps me!

I've just bought Green Pharmacy, Pharmacare.

I'm going to use it inbetween clients and stop using baby wipes.  It gets a good write-up on Amazon and it will be delivered on time before I go on tour. Unfortunately the Lactacyd wouldn't be and I want to take something with me.

Does anyone know if non-latex condoms are better if you suffer from thrush?

I've had thrush before and have been to the clinic 3 times thinking I'd got something or thrush and they just told me to change my soap , as nothing wrong, but I think it was friction.

since I've now switched to skyns the new ones are thin and lubed, but even the others .

No more soreness irritation.
Shaved ones make me sore , if someone's got a bit of hair I think 'oh thank goodness a little soft cushion lol'

I used to think shaved dicks were sexy not anymore or stubbly beards , I'm forever saying "ooh careful bit scratchy"

I have just found out that repeated thrush infections can be symptomatic of diabetes.

I've had a few thrush outbreaks in the last few months along with other non thrush related symptoms of diabetes. I've just been for blood tests to confirm.

Whilst it is unlikely to be so serious for many ladies, I thought it would be useful to add to this thread. If you've tried everything else and it keeps reoccurring then it would be worth a test to rule it out.

Hi girls,

Just wanted to share some very useful information regarding getting rid of thrush, apparently natural yogurt helps a lot. You need to put the yogurt  on the tampon and insert it for few hours (please google for more information) you can also put some yogurt on external areas if affected.
I've had thrush before and always treated with antibiotics, but I've discovered this recently and it helped overnight. Hope this will help some of you too  :-*

If you're sensitive to thrush, avoid aloe Vera toilet roll or any scented or printed toilet roll.

Also if you use fem fresh wash they have recently added aloe Vera into the ingredients. Scrap your bottle and buy boots own or something similar.

Douching twice a day with Raw unrefined Apple Cider vinegar helps too. Drinking 1 tablespoon in a glass of water is great for the body. It's what you put into your mouth as well as the vagina that makes all the difference. I've been trying to treat my gut flora with probiotics but they aren't agreeing with me, had recurrent thrush for several weeks now.  :FF

Staying off sugar and alcohol if you are disciplined enough really helps.  I got my last bout of thrush by just eating marmite on toast or honey on toast for a week or so.  Marmite can trigger it as can sugar etc.

The thrush tablet side effects totally floor me leaving me unable to work for 3 weeks this happened last winter too so I really don't want thrush again!!  I always feel so wretched after the flucanazole in my system.

A bit of a sexworker's curse isn't it.  It is enough to get recurring periods every 3 weeks than worry about thrush on top!

Have you tried the balance active BV gel? It's quite expensive, but it's what most GPs prescribe. You put it in at night for a week, then you use it every week after, to keep your 'flora' in balance. I've found it very helpful and for ?10 or so, it's worth a try. Boots sell it.

Also, be careful of what you're using to wash down there and being used in the bath. I only use natural salt or baby oil in the bath, if anything at all. I also don't douche or use any cleaning products down there.

BalanceActiv is great for BV but I've found it makes no difference to thrush.

Avoid diary products to eat. believe me when I stopped eating them, my trush started to come very rarely  :o
Also as somebody mentioned - drink probiotics.
Tridly, use vaginal ph restoring "pills". I use Vagisan? Lactic Acid and it really helps. Sometimes I use it when I do incalls and notice that my pussy is not very happy :D

I get thrush before my period as well. I think it can be hormonal, but I also eat a lot of junk to balance out the PMS!  ;D
