The homepage has been hacked, but it's ok!

You might have noticed that the SAAFE homepage has been hacked. It's not anything you need to worry about, it's just something that certain teenage boys do for fun. I've alerted Brandy and Janitor and I think they'll be able to fix it without any trouble.

The forum hasn't been affected, so you don't need to change your passwords. Even the articles from the main site are still there, it's just the homepage that has been replaced.

Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon, thanks for your patience.

Looks like the same lovely people from before Anika Mae. Thanks for the heads up.

If the password is 'strong' (long, not in any dictionary, ideally with MixEd caSe letters, digits and punctuation) then I'd wonder if they left anything nasty in the system last time.

If it isn't, it should be :)

The other thing to enquire from whoever is the sysadmin at wherever this is hosted is whether they have a system whereby a) there's a significant delay imposed whenever someone gets a password wrong and b) any IP address that repeatedly gets a password wrong is blocked for a substantial time.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Ita random generated once a month and yep its a full mix

there was until it was upgraded a 4 strikes and the firewall blocks the ip in place, I have emailed them again this morning to see if that is still in operation, as i wasnt blocked the otherday when i forgot the new password  :-[

last night i was online as it happend and was able to block the offending ip (doesnt even appear to be a proxy) and have the shell script used to get in, that has now been forwarded to the maintance people to do what they need to do, and hopefully stop this happening again
