Hi,

It will. You will not be better off for a while (You have a child (ren) - yes?)

My friend had this recently, she started a little cleaning business, knowing she would not be better off. She simply contacted them with the NET income each week, as it gradually built up.

If you simply call them and say "I made some cash this week, ?97.50" they will sort it out simply. It really is not a headache. So after week one, take away your agency fees, travel costs, condoms, lube, stockings, undies/make-up that is ONLY for work bought, childcare costs etc etc and let them know the figure. Just the remaining figure listening to my friend, as they started questioning her expenditure which is none of their business.

If you are a lone parent, it may be worth asking for an appointment with one of their advisers as they can help you a great deal. Also using entitledto website can help and you can now select the following year (post April 6th) which means you can see how your guestimate of income will work for you based on things like last (this) years tax credits etc.
