If Kylie had been around 3 or 4 years ago when phones were ringing non-stop, ladies booked up weeks in advance and that's what she got used to then I think she might be noticing a difference.
I totally agree, those were the days werent they Strawberry. There is also a difference in people wanting one or two bookings a day/week to people who work full time and are used to seeing 5/6/7 a day and before anyone says anything about not wanting that many a day ......................... we have heard it all before.
Yes of course because I just say it to look good or keep 'the punters happy' and wouldnt really possibly turn down the money! Lmao! LL you are starting to sound like a punter. I genuinely would never want to see that many a day let alone every week even if I was getting the calls. I don't know why that's so hard to understand? Not all of us are just focused on making as much money as possible, for me it's a lifestyle choice.
Kylie I limit my clients much like you do, always have exercised some form of restriction AND I have noticed a massive difference. In the past you had a much wider choice of clients, and if someone let you down(much rarer) there'd be a veritable virtual queue of offers. Basically you could have everyone cancel for days in a row and know you'd still be ok. I still have days like that but in general the phone is a lot quieter. Sure it's not affected me
that much in sheer income terms (in fact if anything the amount of money coming in has increased slightly due to a variety of personal reasons) however I've noticed a difference in how easy it is to get bookings and mine are now spread out much more across the week - in the past I'd know by a certain day I'd have definitely had enough bookings to satisfy me and would then schedule 3 days off knowing on the 4th I'd be fully booked no problems. No I find there are very busy days, quiet days and dead days and I cannot be sure when I'll hit my target. I'll still do it and still happy with the number of bookings I get but I don't know for instance that I can be 'available' for 4 days and full fill my requirements for the week - I might need to make myself available for 5,6 or 7 days.
My biggest problem is that on busy days I'm turning guys away, but they won't rebook for the quieter days even when I've offered a discount. I still limit myself because I simply have a maximum number of clients each day that I don't want to exceed, and I always make sure I offer the same quality experience no matter how many or how few clients I see (although I find myself more motivated when I have an optimum number of bookings lined up)but it's more of an average over the week now.
And Kylie I have wanted to say for a while that I find your posts to be condescending, and can see how they get people's backs up. As you'll know I rarely go on the attack, and usually think quite a bit about things trying to see it from different points of view but that is the general feeling I get about your posts.
If you waltz around constantly saying "I get loads of bookings, turn loads away and never have any problems" it's not very empathetic nor sympathetic, and will wind up those who are finding it a struggle and looking for support.
I'm going to go away from this thread now because I can see it's going to seem as if everyone is ganging up on you, but it's not that way I'm simply trying to post how I feel and how it is.
