I have a friend who is an investment banker, he earns 150,000 a year + bonus, and when I once mentioned that 50k is a good salary, he looked shocked, and said he wouldn't survive on 50k...
How do I survive in London on my no-where-near-50k-wage ?

Most probably the guy has a family, kids in private school, a shopaholic wife, nannie, a couple of cars and a summer house, a big mortage and tends to vacation in the bahamas. Of course the "poor" guy cannot survive with 15,000 plus bonus! I hope they tax the hell out of him ha-ha! ;D
Mornings were made for sleeping, wild sex and bacon.

It's just really really weird for me at the moment....
Monday I had more Calls and Bookings than I could handle and by 4pm I was knackered having done 4 Clients....
And yet the rest of the Week there was virtually nothing....  :FF
Very Very weird!!   ???

This week, Tuesday and Wednesday were packed for us and it's been dead the rest of the week.. We normally only take up to 2 jobs per day so were debating whether to take the third booking - glad we did now!

yes. that's why I just decided on my work hours, and stuck to them. 12 - 8. that's it. I stay at home, semi-dressed, same day appointments, doing stuff I need to do. My mornings are for me. I run at 10am. I take bookings starting at 8am. I take as many bookings as I can and then see who actually turns up. if/when I get to 4 shows, I call and cancel any others and end my day. I have learned that for me, this is the best way to work as I have a steady schedual, less stress, and when I talked to my doc about my stress levels he told me I had to get some solid routine into my work hours or it was going to burn me out and screw my sleep.

so I just don't vary. I take two days off a week, work 12-8 and some days I get to knock off early.

better than an office job. that's for sure.

YES!  Exactly that has happened to me twice, my gym is a 5 min walk away. First time it happened I was really p****d off
so went back to the gym and the receptionist laughed and asked if she was seeing things. I gave her some excuse why I
had to dash off the first time.

We had a similar problem earlier, a guy messaged around 5pm wanting to see us around 8, then didn't reply to us until 7.15 to say he did want to meet (despite reading our message at 5.30!) but we'd had another person book in by then so turned him down. Clients are like buses sometimes!

I've had a good day for advance bookings, ie all of them turned up, but the phone has been dead. Not even time wasters calling
