And by the way, January has been very quiet. Thats why Im not happy about the holidays anymore. This is the 3rd January in a row where things have just slumped. Everyday should be a holiday, not just a month when people go spend crazy and then afterwards time just stands still...

Perhaps we should be organising our own personal January sales campaigns. I'm not suggesting we slash our prices (god forbid!) but maybe offer an incentive to spend money like loyalty points (I could print up my own little cards, buy ten blow jobs, get a complimentary massage) or offer team up to with other suppliers to have your car valeted whilst you're getting your end away.

Gosh I'm bored... ooh those CDs aren't in order, must sort that out.....

PS, please don't take any of the above seriously, I'm pulling the collective plonker... except perhaps about the CDs!

Well Lilly you are right to an extent, offering specials is good sometimes. I have a massage special going on which is 100 dollars less than what I usually charge. I also advertised 30 minute specials. Point is, the men are broke because of the silly holiday shopping rituals and nothing's really selling so well. What do I have to do, offer $20 specials  ::)

Just to say that I do a spreadsheet and have done for a long time!!!!  And it is not out of boredom at all!

I take this work seriously and treat it in a professional manner.  As such I have goals and set myself targets which I try to reach.  By doing spreadsheets it also jogs my memory on clients and likewise a very good way of looking back and seeing which months were busier than others.

It also helps with keeping accurate accounts and providing information required by my accountant should the need arise.

Yup. Went from literally 7 calls a day last month (albiet with a generous helping of the "woss-ya-name-again I forgot and can i 'av a discount" variety) to 1 or 2 calls a day if I'm lucky at the moment. Definitely getting some loyalty cards made up with something along the lines of....... hmmm, maybe a flash of nipple as they leave, as an incentive to save up for. I mean, seriously, that's a pretty generous offer if you ask me.

I have had more calls lately but that could be because I got my first punternet review not long ago, and another positive reveiw on AW, whereas before I only had one, so im guessing thats why. I was expecting January to be very quiet because its the time of year when most people have spent too much over xmas! x x

I find that new reviews help, I was just cheeky and asked a couple of clients right out if the were going to do a review...and it worked, one client even said he came to see me because it said "New Review" next to my name on the agency website. I expected January to be slow too, so I've saved for that. I'm also going to invest in some new photos in a few weeks so that when the january money troubles ease a bit I'll be there in my new knickers :D

It'll get better. It always does. xx

January's fine for me at the moment. It's February I usually dread. That's when the Christmas bills arrive.

I think most of us have been through this at one time or another, and I guess its intensified now with the current political and financial climate, least now you have fab sites such as this where we can all share it with you, I remeber my first spell in the doldrums, everybody around me seemed to be saying how wonderfull things were, and i started doubting my perfume, and then myself. these things happen in waves, tomorow/next week/who knows, but it will be like somebody has flicked a switch and things will turn themseleves around.

I cant wait til the switch gets turned back on already. Why it was turned off in the first place just annoys me!

Actually, back on the subject, I have found January this year busier than last year, although I had only just gone full time and I didn't have my website, just a few newspaper ads and some directory listings. I believe that the '4 weekly' people have just been paid, and the 'monthly' ones will be the end of this week - I had a quiet one a couple of weeks ago but nothing out of the ordinary for the time of year.

I still have a good mix of newbies and regulars too, and I had been fully expecting to rely on the fan club for the next few weeks, given all the blather about recession and so forth. I don't think it's that different to any other industry - those who give a good service at reasonable rates will be fine and the chancers who are out for a fast buck and don't care about clients or repeat business will fail, and frankly no-one will be happier to see them dying on their lazy arses than me.

Well you did warn me Brandy, Jan was not that bad in the end but Feb is dire! And the weather is NOT helping.

Yup! People always complain about January being quiet, but it's never been so for me. It's business as usual. It's February I don't like. That's why in the past I've gone on holiday for more or less the whole month because I don't miss much. I'm home this year and I'm gritting my teeth through this month.

This week isn't actually going too bad (suprisingly) I had a booking yesterday and have a couple more today, but last week I only had the one, and that was a long-time regular who battled the weather and the disrupted train service to come in from Cambridge, bless him. A couple of others cancelled because of the snow. And next week here is half-term, which means little or no work for that week. I do have one booking for next Monday, but I wouldn't be suprised if that was it for the week. I also have a play-wrestling session booked for the end of the month.

All in all I'm not really grumbling and I'm happy with whatever comes my way in February. It could be worse, especially with the recession. But yes, traditionally for me, Feb. is the worst month, not January.
