Wow, you have 3 (or 2, i might have that wrong) real life jobs and you take 8-12 bookings a week, thats one huge bloody drain that needs plugging Pandora.  how do you not burn out and run out of energy?

I have one other job and about to start another in a few weeks, after that i am hoping for upto 5 or 6 bookings  a week but anymore and id be way too tired.  my new job will be an incredibly physical one though so maybe that is why i anticipate being so tired.

lexie i have a full time, long hours, day job and its mental work but that is tiring as well

What bugs me is how bananas the papers are going. The Guardian online has had three headlines so far today. 1) Unemployment 2) UK Is buggered   3) Recession is going to be long...

I'm starting to think this is the new Global Warming. Each year we need something new to all be terrified of.

Wasn't last year and the year before the 'floods! famine Pestilence we're all gonna die tomorrow from pollution! Bird Flu will kill 70,000 in the UK! We'll run out of gas and freeze!'

But it's ok, cos now we have a recession. Phew!

Yep, the papers do seem get enthusiastic about bad news. I've read of something a while ago about a 'Good News' paper - it only contained positive stories, apparently it didn't sell very well! No one wants to buy a paper filled with good news!  :o

The recession will dominate for a while, like the boom did. I did read some reprint on line of newspaper articles from the build up to and during the 90's recession, I do remember the 90's recession I was old enough to be aware of things going on when it happened.

I dont know...I think some of it has to also do with where you're at. For example...

I did a check with a New York website and let me say they have about 400 escorts, while the average city in the US has about 20-40 listed escorts on this particular site. And the number of top escorts is obviously more.

I think the credit crunch has something to do with it, but I also think where you are may also have alot more impact. You could be in one place and not having as much luck, blaming of the economy.... and then shift to another city and find out you wasted quite a bit of time being in a smaller town where things really didnt generate much...It wasnt the economy, it was your location. makes sense?

Yes, I think these things tend to ripple through area by area too.

I can only imagine that it may be similar to the 90's and what seemed to happened to people then, some were able to keep going for a while on their current salary through the initial stage of the difficulties, some had stretches of unemployment but managed to continue getting jobs at their previous salary at various times and some took a cut (like what they used to earn in a week they accepted to earn in a month) and they were able to stay employed throughout but, but, but you also have those who for various reasons remain relatively unaffected. What I've read but don't know is that 'entertainment' (breweries, prostitution) tend to be ok but I've no idea really where we stand.

well its like, doctors, mechanics and football games. People are always going to be sick, always going to have car trouble, always going to be bored and horny. People also need clothes and transportation...but you can be more selective with the latter...which is why some auto industries are feeling the pinch.

one thing is...you can never predict the future. How can one say next week is going to be crap? How can one say tonight will be busy? you just dont know. and vice versa...

the nights I swore would be slow...werent. the nights I swore would be busy, wasnt.

The phone and bookings have gone very quiet in the last two weeks.   December was really busy.

Is this just me or is this a January thing? Or indeed a credit card landing on the mat time of year.

The bookings I have had have been really long ones, which is great, so takings wise its up, but it is soooooo quiet.

I agree, for me it's a bit quiet but waiting for payday in a week or so and maybe it'll pick up! Thinking about charting my bookings on a spreadsheet to track patterns from which I can produce all sorts of fancy graphs and pie charts but that may be just a step too far...

hmmm, not so sure about that Lex...we were just talking about this in the thread, "Keeping track for 2009". I was also considering doing the excel spreadsheet thing and seeing what months are slow or not. However, Im going to be traveling abroad the 1st quarter of this year to a couple different cities so the findings may be exaggerated due to the new boy in town  :-\

Thankfully im off for a week or so, i shall be spending quite a bit of that time in a hospital and i wasnt looking forward to it but im thinking its going to be a bloody hoot compared to here these days.  See you all soon. x
