I stopped cam because after the platform takes its cut even when I was busy, it was much harder work for much less money. I found the emotional labour of being ‘on it’ all day very very tiring with people coming in and out of your room for quick peaks and then at best stayers never staying for more than a few mins. Even when it’s very slow I prefer just to keep my energy up for when that next little ‘rush’ of bookings that always eventually materialises, comes along, as long as I am willing to be flexible on work hours. And maybe doing some marketing/blogging/photos etc. But then some people say they think of cam as a way to get credits to advertise more and try and get new clients from cam encounters, so you could look at it that way if things are slow.
