Well it ought to be busy up to christmas, its only about 10 weeks off. Theres just no way to predict this industry at all.
Ive had a decent week but am managing to reduce the number of TWs lately and stay focussed on repeat visits. Recently moved so lost a few but have had several new ones come back. They are your bread and butter and also it feels great to see a friendly face too. Next week could be pants though. Try updating your profiles and ads around the end of the month as its payday week for a lot.

This is the quietest period I have ever had.  The only time the phone is ring is a time waster.  It usually goes very quiet when it rains  - and it has been torrential - but it's been lovely the last two days.

Where has everyone gone? Even camming is dead.

Time is never wasted, at least I am doing all the chores I put off all year.  Hey ho.

It's quiet. Very quiet. I have even rung my own phone to check the thing is working!
Been ill the last few days and missed calls which is infuriating as now I am fit to work there are no calls!
Grrrr.

Gemma, some of us are grizzled old birds, and text-speak makes our brains hurt  :-\.

I do enthusiastically agree with the highlighted bit of your post,  although I'm happy to stay in and shag as I live 100 yards from the North Sea and it's getting fairly nippy up here. You could always try a club, provided you're not too bothered about getting paid.

From the sounds of things, everybody needs to haul arse to the coast - I turned down lots of bookings from unknowns last week because of the HH/Punternet fiasco (the possible consequences of the local rag/busybodies/idiots deciding to have a nosey about wasn't a risk I was prepared to take) and still had 2 or 3 a day - this week is looking very much the same. I do think everyones idea of what constitutes busy is different though - I know that would be dead-as to some ladies, but more than three and I start getting hungry/tired/in a mood  ;D.

It could be the climate up here - maybe I look like something to hibernate in?  ;)

It's not so cold down here Amy - balmy for the last couple of weeks. Have not had heating on since April and it's October, almost the middle! Can't believe I am not feeling cold yet!

I got the most sickening cold last week and missed a few calls. Had to turn off my phone in the end as my temperature spiked through the roof and the constant banging headache along with being barely audible to callers made it impossible to explain over and over that I was not working for a few days.

I had this one guy who went totally ape on me for cancelling a Saturday booking and left horrible remarks on my website - which I deleted - the most unreliable escort ever he claimed. I am off to check out all the sites this morning to see if he's left horrible remarks elsewhere.
I mean, I ask you? Would he rather have turned up while I could barely remember my own name and was sneezing all over the place, thrown his money away on a rubbish booking and then caught the cold as well?
Some guys just rile me up the wrong way!
Had a lot of time wasters as well lately. I seem to go through stages of them - nothing then they all come along at once. It just ruins my appetite for it all. After all this time I still fail to see what they get out of it. Do they really imagine I will sit here, dressed and waiting on them to arrive then they do not? If I don't hear from them the day of the booking I don't get ready for them so they are wasting their time imagining I do! It just has been a very irritating week or so here.
Still dragging myself out of bed each day feeling slightly lousy - I can't remember ever having a cold that sapped me of so much energy before. It's just hanging about day after day. Making me grumpy I am afraid, I lost my tolerance and sense of humour for the jerks we inevitable encounter.
I am happy your doing okay up there though - perhaps they hit oil and are not saying? They are celebrating with you!
Take care.

Now Amy, this is exactly what my client told me last week. You were saying that it was the most ridiculous excuse you've ever heard LOL. I think Abby's excuse was very similar to his! He didnt want me to catch his 'flu' and so wanted to postpone the overnight booking. Best believe I turned that around immediately and got him to go forward with the booking, albeit a day late! I was so not going to miss that overnight  :-[ I would have happily caught the flu, cold, whatever as long as it was curable!

Recall the thread I wrote called, "what paying for sex really means". That in a nutshell is in my opinion the nucleus of why timewasters do what they do. That thread was derived from a person who felt negatively about paying for sex all his life, and completely different after I spoke for just 30 seconds.

The stigma about working gals and men pales in comparison to the way some men feel about paying for it. Even if they have no intention of paying, just the sight of you collecting money from sex irritates them so much that they want to make you jump through hurdles. Its like racism, its because they are ignorant (I call it ig-nant) and dont understand it fully that they hate.  Please eat well, they arent worth missing a lunch  ;)

Joey, that really isn't what you said  ;). You told us that your client had cancelled because 'seasonal changes' had made him ill - the emergence of a slight nip in the air and a few brown leaves never gave anybody the flu. Therefore I stand by my post - phoning in four times a year at my last job and saying I couldn't come in because I was incapacitated by the seasonal changes would have got me about as much sympathy as saying I was staying at home because I'd been out drinking snakebites until 5am, and had as a result bowked all over my work clothes and slept in the wheelie bin  ;D.

I do know three people who have had swine flu and were proper poorly for a week - when I had normal flu I was off work ill for nearly a fortnight and couldn't even brush my hair as it hurt so much. Not nice  :(.

lol, n-n-n-no. That was my excuse for them. That due to seasonal changes it may be causing them to get sick thereby causing people to cancel or not call anyone at all.

My clients excuse was still he had been out sick from the flu, and was didnt want me to catch anything. All in all though he was fine when we met. Honestly though I dont think it was true at all, I think it was more of him testing me to see how much I really wanted the booking  ::)  Sometimes people like to do that, cancel a date but in actuality its just a test to see how much I really want them

 Hey ladies,

I was just wondering if it's just me personally or is everyone really quiet this week? I've been on shift all of yesterday and today and not even had a single booking!  :'(
How are you indie girls finding things at the moment? Are any other girs that work for agencies having the same experience as I am? My agency reckons it's the same for everyone at the moment but come on, not a single booking in 2 days?!  >:(
(and only 1 last week too)

love from a very poor Sophie boo hooo and bah humbug!
xx

Not sure if this due to my location and people coming back out of the woodwork but cannot complain.

I've always found it quiet up to Xmas.  This year, as I said in Joey's holiday post, there is a recession too.  This year there is also (as I posted about before) the impact of Clause (get it?  Clause? Santa??)  sorry - Clause 13 of the new bill, which I assume you all know about (no one commented before when I mentioned it so sorry if I repeat myself).

I think we just have to ride it out (or  not - so many puns sorry), but in my experience, they soon return.  You just now have to make sure you advertise yourself as completely independent, as that's what they (new clients) will want to make sure about.  April is the time when this new law will  probably come into effect, so expect another spell of this being highlighted in media, and the punters going quiet for awhile.

The new law only applies in the UK, so Joey, I guess your quiet spell is due to Xmas and the recession only.
