It is dead for me Hertforshire. It has been all week and I am advertised on AW, as well as many other places plus having a website. Other people are saying the same thing all  over the UK.

I have resorted to playing Dirtee Cash by Dizzy Rascal :o. Come on, money talks and dirty cash we all need you NOW. Purleasseeeeeeeee

sdont forget that next week is the school holidays for pretty much everthing below scotland and dont forget the clocks go back aw well
so expect lots of idiot school kids  texting  and ringing as they are home from school

i still reckon its the free texts that comes with most phones thats why everyone texts

quote author=Ana30 link=topic=6902.msg55902#msg55902 date=1319148709]
this has been "the week of text messages" for me. All in the line of:

-"Hi, are you available tonight"
me: - "yes, I am. Have we met?"
- "No we haven't"
Me: "Ok, then you would need to call me as I don't do text appointments. xoxo. Ana"

End off. Never heard back.

Is the fact that I'm available a turn off?  Do they really expect me to go to some strangers house without actually having a real conversation? Are there any women out there doing text message appointments making it difficult for the rest of us who expect -hold your breath here-:  a real conversation?

I want to blame it on futbol. Every day of this week there's been some important game. That for me is like the kiss of death for business.

I always insist on a conversation too, you can tell a lot from it.
I can only work intermittently atm and I'm working from a hotel right now....I've been fairly busy but it may be partly that I'm not available that often.  I had thought it'd been quiet anyway as .......doh I hadn't realised it was half term!!!
Saying that it might go dead today........

Sometimes these texters do result in Coin.
But only if they subsequently phone me.
This is my text template for people who try exclusively to book me via text:
Thank you for your text.
I need to hear your voice to ensure you are not a minor.

Any further texts and I block them.

My problem is I don't hear very well and I need to ALWAYS just text and I get guys REALLY frustrated because I won't (can't) answer calls.  Plus I've now really got to know well how to judge guys texts whether genuine or not.  Only problem is some guys can't text (they don't know how to)

Another advantage is that most phones store texts so its a good way of looking back at previous TW etc.
I do have to say though that for me it IS a problem and I guess I lose about 20-30 bookings a week because of this and I have no option  ???

20-30 bookings a week lost? Where the hell are you situated?, most would be lucky to that many enquiries a month, let alone bookings.  I shall pack my bags now for a tour!

The way I see it is - NOT every call = a booking - I know many of us know this but some of the newer girls may not.  I dont know what the ratio to calls that turns into a booking is but I'm sure this differs from girl to girl.  Some females are better at selling themselves, this is a fact.

Not every booking = a booking, in  the fact that we just can't tell if the caller will turn into a client.  He may just be a TW.  Many girls will back me up when I say even 'regulars' let us down at times.

There is also the guy who does turn up then changes his mind once he sees us.  This is something everyone has to accept for no matter how pretty a girl is, how good a figure she has ............. we can't possibly float EVERYONES boat.  The guy may be honest and say 'do you mind if i leave it'  ???  ??? what choice do we have .... do we take him into the bedroom and take advantage of his body FOC.  No we gotta let them go.

There is also the guy who says 'oh i left my wallet in my car/van' ..... this is the cowards way out (well 99% of the time) or 'oh i forgot to go to the cash machine' or 'how much did you say it was' 'oh ive only got xxx'.  These are all pathetic twats who just dont have the balls to be honest.

I also know that business for everyone is a lot slower in Scotland than say just a year ago, so to say 20-30 bookings is lost in a week because of a hearing problem is being unrealistic.  Maybe one or two may be lost in a week or a month but never 20-30.  Even working 7 days a week 24 hours a day this would be a loss of 4-5 a day.  Most working girls would be pleased TO DO 4-5 bookings in a day - maybe in a week but thinking your losing 20-30 in a week, like I said before is not being realistic.

Don't get me wrong.  Some girls do do more than others but most of them are in the parlours - not independent working girls.

i would say that if im talking about same day bookings  then if  took between 5 - 15  phone calls at home in bristol then this would turn into 2  - 4 booking probably   but i do get a  fair amount of advance bookings normally regular clients who know im only around for a few days or so
so some time i can do 2 -3 advance booking and then a few same day bookings as well

Touring can depend on where i am  as well  ireland you get a lot of timewaster  so you could take 30 -100  phone calls a day but get 5  -12  bookings  so although you are getting more phone calls your not in reality that much busier ( i mean you are but not in terms of the phones calls you are getting )

Other places the phone can be  slower but the callers are genuine so it dosnt matter you  might take 15 phone calls and get  7 -  10 bookings its a number thing  and untill a guy has arrived turnt up and paid you never know if they are genuine or not  even if its a regular client i assume that  untill they are there and have paid its not a done deal that im going to be earning that money
Glasgow i found my phone was busy but it was a load of timewaster
So it dosnt matter how busy your phone is if they aint coming in and paying you then its not really relevant
I prefer my phone to be slower so that i can in fact weed out the timewasters and idiots that can often slip through the net when the phone is mega busy

Totally agree Paris, on the other hand if a guy calls you do have the 'chance' of converting.  We just dont know  :'(

As I can only work intermittently atm.......did 3 days in Glasgow (hotel) first two days v busy (I needed 2b 2 people!), third day was chocka with TWs, hagglers, and idiots.........till the evening.

Paying a visit to Pompey this w/end.......wasn't gonna work, then a bkg came up and I felt........why not, and also that I kinda should anyway (almost like you never know when ur gonna get bookings so shouldn't turn one down)

Ach  :-\  I think this was picked up wrongly!  :o
I'll never REALLY know how many I do ACTUALLY lose as I obviously can't take the calls.  So there is the element of TW or people who aren't comfortable making a booking by text only (I could be a guy) but in that case then phone calls wise it is more than that, I was just going by a hunch.  Some weeks its considerably less than that but I would say thats about average.  When I posted a new advert in the Sunday Sport, I got 83 phone calls in one day. Over 50 wouldn't respond by text.

Its a difficult situation.
I'm doing better now than I have been,  2 years ago (my WORST spell) I got one 15 minute booking in 10 days.  I resorted to sending emails and texts to myself to see if they were still working!! :P :P

I had my first client tonight after 15 days! My longest spell with no work yet. It was a late booking and I'd been out all day and walked miles and was bushed, but I still got my arse in gear and went....there may not be another for 2 weeks lol
