Currently on tour, it's the 5th day in Leeds and it's been absolutely DEAD. I mean, not even one booking! I've been reliably getting bookings almost everyday since the beginning of the year, and this is a total shock! Never had this before! The first two days here in Leeds I had lots of timewster calls (the "whereabouts are yea?" uttered by a thug-like voice types), now even the tw's have gone quiet! WTF's going on?

Seriously, I was really busy till last week (had NO complaints) and all of a sudden I'm experiencing the biggest nosedrive EVER.

lol its very quiet this week like you last week i was really really busy and was turning them away but this week its like I'm checking my phone to make sure its actually working and not died if it wasn't for regular clients it would be a bit of a washout
I've also had 3 punter net reports in the last week all are by guys that have written at least 10 other reports so genuine ect but it hasn't made any difference at all

I had a slight break last week: 2 regular clients and they were 2 hours and then 4 hours. So it atleast kept me from knawing on my nails in nervousness LOL.

However, it's still been dead for my paid ads. So much to the point that I let one of my main ads expire (I paid$ 50 for it last month and didn't get shit locally from it. $50 that could have stayed in my bank account).

Even worse, I just don't even want to part with my money on ads anymore. It's becoming a waste. I'm using free sites...which pay less, but get better results. Massage/half-hours etc. But with the way things are going I refuse to pay for any ads unless I'm going on tour. I know ParisB mentioned in the past about how important it is to advertise, but honestly...it's like it's not working. I don't want to keep throwing money down the drain.

had my one and only regular tell me last time that i need to loose weight, grrrrr. cumon now tell mesomething i don't know. altho i'm now with an agency as well as independant. it has been dead recently. not great when my gorgeous friend (not a big mama like myself) is fightin them off with a barge pole.

I finally been able to get some work in...and found out the culprit was my advertising! The main site I normally like to advertise on that pays the most is DEAD locally.

So, I been using craigslist again lately and been getting decent clients, although lower than the rates I'd normally charge. However, I've had more money to spend and I didn't even bother renewing the other website although I do plan to soon...just wanted to keep my spending money for the weekend!

The classifieds can be hit or miss, but truth be told...when push comes to shove it has always been the go to place when things get rough and tough and you have nowhere else to turn. Its a CLASSIFIED. Meaning people are going there to buy and pay for things. Unfortunently, the escorts sites seem to turn into 'membership clubs' where the same clients look at the site over and over again. The classifieds tend to broadcast to a much wider audience...I ask some of them and they never even heard of some sites I'm on. and all this time I was thinking something wrong with me or my ads!

It's not really used over here, Kylie although there's pages of fake ads in London for the unwary, apparently. Think Vivastreet or Gumtree, only without the sophistication.

Advertising for us here is a lot easier and cheaper than it is for ladies in the US, partly because we're not breaking the law and partly because there is so much competition between the main sites which tends to keep it reasonable. There just aren't the sites over there and as Blaine has said, the ones there are (with the exception of the likes of Eros) don't have the spread or the exposure that ours do.

I'm just back from Belfast (full of the cold

) and wanted to let anyone know that is thinking of going over that the Ulsterbank problem has still not been sorted out and is having a BIG effect on business over there. Many guys still arent getting the money that they want and many are having big problems and this is having an affect on business. Not just for touring girls but also for local workers too.

If anyone thinks this should be in another section please feel free to move it, I just didnt want anyone to waste their money going over.

It is also the times of the Orange Walks (something the English might not understand but if you google 'orange walk belfast' you will still find out. There will be more police presence which doesnt really affect indies but it does make guys jumpy and there is usually a lot of trouble at this time. It usually lasts from now till the end of July.

If I can help with any other info I dont mind answering any questions.

I got to (slightly) disagree. The main directories here (think AW, punterlink,punternet, oz, classifieds etc..) are all located abroad (despite being UK advertising venues) and there's a clear reason for it so maybe what we're doing is legal but what they're doing not so much. The laws are not that different after all. Interestingly enough in the US the main advertising sites (EROS, Backpage, craigslist and TER) are all US based. Go figure.
