Yes, Salty, it's best taken consistently to give complete protection. I wasn't going to take it but a couple of my friends have started taking it with no ill effects either.

One friend in particular keeps catching oral gonorrhea and as she said, it just takes one person with HIV and her career is over. I think she feels she is particularly susceptible.

I don't want to offer OW as it doesn't fit into my marketing and what I enjoy, personally, so I feel more protected.

With other STDs we can get treatment but HIV is a career killer and a life sentence. I think it's wonderful it's available on the NHS now and am so grateful.

That's awful about your friend keep catching Oral Gonorrhea i am assuming if she keeps getting it she feels she cannot stop the service and use a condom because of loss of income and customers maybe. Such a shame.

I was offered PrEP yesterday at the clinic by the doctor but declined .I'm not in such a risk category as she seems to think. I thought It was also anyone having unprotected sex and at a higher risk.  I don't want to be taking this additional medicine unnecessarily.

I used to to take prep but I don’t bother now.
That’s a personal choice I don’t like to take medication

The only side effects I had were at the start were sickness bloating but that isn’t the reason I stopped.
I just don’t see the point in me putting a drug in me that can affect my kidneys in future for something that is very unlikely to happen. I guess it’s down to everybody’s choice but to me it wasn’t worth it

I recieived a call yesterday from the health care team at the clinic advising me again reg Prep they seem adamant I should take it after receiving a infection yet told me all my blood tests results were negative .This is fine,I'm relieved  but the slide tests showed nothing yet  got the doctor advising me to take injections and antibiotics last week this cleared up the initial problem but i was to belive I  had gonhorrea .  They are really full on with me taking medicines Prep  that I've declined already  . Does this happen each time you have had to go to clinics ?.are they on some sort of commission  getting people onto prep ! I have so few clients and never offer unprotected .

Never been ordered to me but I'm in the sticks might be a location thing, although my region is sometimes claimed to have higher STI rates my actual location has (I am told by GUM clinic staff) very few HIV infections BUT I do have clients from other areas including nationally. Is there a sex worker outreach nearby, I would be asking them about this might be others are feeling pressurised.

Thankyou Mirror
I might go to a support drop in next week I had only gone to this local sexual health centre as an emergency because of my symptoms .
I do feel pressured and unless something goes wrong again i prefer to head to Jeffries wing instead .
