Scam or not?
« on: 20 May 2013, 11:31:07 pm »
I received a telephone call from this lady after putting my profile on ukadultzone. She then sent me the following email, I have declined the service but wondered if any other escorts had came across this & if it is a scam?

I find it surreal  that these "out of the blue" new escort directories would want to charge you 200 pounds when nobody has ever heard of them. I find it cheeky and a scam. I mean, you build a directory (it's not that difficult, anybody with  very basic IT knowledge can do it) and you start e-mailing the gazillions of escorts on the web asking them for money. Out of ten there will always be someone who will send you the money. What a great business. Then you'll be giving your real name and credit card details to some dodgy characters in god-knows-where. No thanks.  If I was to pay each new escort directory on the web that e-mails me I would be broke at this point. Seriously. There's tons of free directories out there sending me plenty of business so i don't understand why I have to pay 200 of my hard earned to some dodgy website who hasn't proved to bring me any business whatsoever. The way serious directories should operate is by offering you a free 3 month trial, and only if you happen to get any business from them you may -or may not- start giving them your hard earned.

These people are not even listed in the Alexa ranking of websites (were you find how much traffic a website is generating and how long they've been on the web) so I don't see where they're getting that "complete coverage" from (at least for now).

on their news page it says they only launched the site 3 days ago. There's no chance whatsoever that any paying client will find their way onto this site. Maybe in a few years it could work its way up to being a decent directory. Even that's very unlikely considering all the well established competition, but for now it's a huge scam to be cold calling escorts in search of a sucker who'll pay 200 quid to go on an effectively invisible directory.

Unless you have heard reliant feedback about them from other GENUINE WGs, especially the girls on here then I'd steer clear.

I completely avoid anything like this.

They think we are all rich and there's easy money to be made, so obviously a prime target. Like the men who make bookings just to find out what there is to steal.

Stuff like this really fu***ng winds me up!!!  :FF  :FF  :FF  :FF

Their primary target being the more ?vulnerable? followed by what they obviously believe to be the na?ve,  non-informed escort.  Keep posting and reading brilliant forums like this girls.  Lets make sure we keep each other informed and keep the wolves out!.....

Thanks guys. I haven't heard from her since I declined her services. She also said in one telephone call that she had worked for a north east escort agency - but she cocked their name up slightly & went on to say they charge 60% commission - which I know is untrue.
She also reckons that she can increase my client base by 5 new people each week! People like her must just sit in wait of new escorts joining the scene. It's sickening.  :FF

I just got a call from them. Turns out that ?199 price is per year, not per month, which is a bit more reasonable but still won't be signing up unless I can at least try it out for a month. They want to put you on a '1 year contract' paid monthly. She told me they're number one on google for 'male escort london.' Actually number 2 at the moment but that's still pretty good for a 2 month old site. The site seems a bit non user friendly to me eg you have to fill out 'I'm
looking for' and 'location.'  If you just fill out location it doesn't return any results. Did eventually find a list of their male escorts for London. Most of them look like regular blokes advertising as men for women who've never seen a paying client in their lives and who've been conned into signing up..

Following a sales call from the same people I went to take a look at their site, started the sign-up process and got a quote in excess of ?2000. I stopped there.

For some reason I bought advertising from them for 239 GBP for the year.............and they are now trying to lock me into a second year and bill my card for over 2 thousand pounds  :o
