Scam - any info?
« on: 26 January 2007, 12:43:16 pm »
Just wanted to know if anyone has any more details or has come across this scam before.

I heard of a new escort yesterday who was given a contact number by a 'friend'. She contacted this guy who has set her up a profile on Adultwork. For this priverledge he takes ?30 of her earnings per each hour booking she gets.

Now most of us are aware we can pop our profile up on Adultwork, and unless we use their advertising features, it costs us nothing at all.

Im getting more info on this situation as this poor girl has been scammed. She has internet connection herself so she can easily set herself up. She has been misled. She has never even met this guy. I dont know if its someone connected to the site, or someone whos just scamming.

Hugs

I know of a lady who was led a merry dance by a guy who used AW to earn himself money on her photos (she didn't know he was using them and certainly did not give permission for him to use them, especially those with her face showing!) and he had also set himself up to answer her AW emails, deciding to add on extras without her agreement.

The same guy was recently behind one of those directories which steal everyones details from other sites to try and make their own site looks established and busy. His site was eventually taken down, as far as I know, thanks to a lady taking action with his hosting company over copywrite.

It may be the same guy or just another opportunist tosser? Matt is name this geezer uses although his websites are registered to an Olu.

Feel free to let us know if you get any more details.

Not heard anything personally but will certainly ask around.

To be honest I think AW is a site to steer well clear of for various reasons, but that is just my opinion I'm sure others will feel overwise

It could be that she's been added to one of these adultwork groups. In effect, they're agencies. One person controls all the profile, answers all the mail, collects all the earnings, etc.

I didn't realise such things existed. Personally I give AW a wide berth but I know some ladies have found it useful in procuring work. Personally it just seems to be a site full of chancers and shiseters.

If you see text under the escort's name on an AW page saying of Blah Blah click on the text. That takes you to the "group" page where all listed under that group will be shown.
