When i first started escorting i imagined myself being able to save loads of money, maybye even enough to put down a deposit on a home of my own, travel to the places i would love to go,etc etc.
However I'm finding the reality very different. Maybye its the current financial climate but I'm finding that by the time Ive paid my rent, bills, bought food, put money away in my ISA for my tax and so on Ive got practically nothing left over to save up.
I don't even think I'm an extravagant person in my spending,i don't spend fortunes on clothes, going out etc. Yet I'm finding myself constantly worrying about money. Even when i manage to get a bit of money saved up and put aside a bill seems to come in or the car needs fixing etc and wallop its nearly all gone again. :'(
Is anyone else finding the same thing? (without getting too personal about people finances) or am i the only one shopping in Primark whilst everyone else lounges on their barker and stonehouse furniture in their sable coats wearing La Perlas finest? :-\

Imagine if you had a normal job, making say 300 pounds a week, regardless of what bill came in, if you didn't have the money it didn't get paid, so as silly as it seems you need to pay yourself a weekly salary, and forget the rest. You can do this by actually starting a company and hiring yourself for a fixed salary. Also, when you work with cash there is a tendency to overspend on little things. You will take a taxi easier that the bus, you will go out to dinner rather than cook, the cost of your make-up increases. You talk more in your phone, etc. You stop looking for the bargain items on sale. It does ad up. Try keeping an expense account, for a week, you will be surprised at how much you are spending on silly things.
Oh and CCcards are the worst! It is like invisible money. I had the bank lower my limits! I also Pay them off at the end of the month. It keeps you from treating them like play money.
Also, as a girl we do worry about money more, especially in our Free lance work. A quiet week can put a dent in your savings big time. So, try to keep an emergency fund, and a DONT NOT TOUCH FUND!
I hope this helps. Kisses V

Hmmm you could be right Violette about me spending more than i realise. I am going to to keep a diary of everything i spend next week and see how much money im going through.
But i honestly think hand on heart that i spend less on myself now than i did when i had a 'normal' job. However i lived at home then cos there was no way i could have afforded to live in my own place. So perhaps even the fact that ive got my independence now is testament to how much more money im earning. Its just that paying all the bills etc that really eats into my money :(
When i lived at home i spent far more on make up,face creams etc than i do now. I didnt think beauty products were worth buying unless you had to go upto a counter and ask the lady behind it to get your purchase down off the shelf! Ahhhhh those were the days :D

That's the problem when we are paid in cash - easy come easy go. I bet you are spending more than you think and living independtly is very expensive.
I'd suggest *most* escorts are working to pay the bills and have a few treats rather than being the owers of huge savings accounts or living lavish lifestyles.
Some of the escorts I have met are more in debt now than they were when they started - thanks to the cash aspect and thinking we all earn loads of dosh every week.
Money management is very important and the biggest aspect is writing it all down - boring as that may be. :)

Ugh...girlfriend I feel ya. (although that last line made me laugh). I dont know Im just reading the advices myself because I ask the same questions some days. I'm no financial expert but just fromn experience of dealing with these things, I'd say stuff like car needs fixing, groceries, healthcare etc are all important things. Of course some would suggest you 'get rid of the extras, including cars' but some things you arent willing or simply cannot give away. And you'll be surprised to know most of the cash is going into those little things that add up (or big things also, like rent >:(. For example, a trip to the pharmacy this week costed nearly 40 bucks. And it was only for mouth care! (except the bottle of lube I bought :-[
My opinion: I prefer to have the bills paid, car running, and hygiene in check than to have a savings right now. Why? So if something breaks or you get sick...you gonna have to pull it out of savings anyway. And where did that savings come from? Money you made from escorting. No point in saving if you dont have the funds available for everyday stuff. There are some people out there that dont make enough off of escorting alone every single week, whether it be because of location, type and all sorts of factors. Having a 2nd income from somewhere to have savings/emergency funds is the next option.
Similar to the thing Violette/Trafford mentioned surely have to watch the coins. In my opinion, it doenst matter whether its cash or a card as one can get just as carried away swiping bank cards as they can spending cash. And cash doesnt take 2 or 3 days to withdraw from your account so you have it all there. There's been times I've had to count cash at the mall after I leave every store. Its all there, just have to work it out :-\

Don't underestimate the costs of running a house - the electricity and gas bills have all gone up nearly 30% in the last six months, there's council tax and all sorts of hidden costs (insurance, management fees, TV license etc etc) and they add up like crazy. I am paying council tax on two places until my other one sells and simultaneously doing up my new (old and knocked about) apartment - also assuming you have as many showers per day as I do (6 or 7 sometimes) and run the washing machine at least once a day, the cost of utilities is obscene; my friends cannot believe how much my monthly Direct Debits are for these. I work from home so can be 'in' a lot of the time (lights/computer/Hi-fi on all day) and the place needs to be kept warm and nice for clients (and this is double if you are renting a work flat).
Most of my overspending is on food but I do believe you have to eat well to stay healthy; I buy organic, free range stuff and use my local shops. It costs me a lot more than if I lived on frozen meatburgers and packet crap, but then if I did I would look like shite and have no customers, so I think it's worthwhile. I would also say that you don't actually need that much lingerie - I have three basic 'outfits' that I wear for most bookings plus a few 'colour' sets for if requested (white, red etc) and whilst they were expensive, they are standing the test of time very well (and if you mix/match and rotate them fairly carefully nobody notices).
I would agree about restricting what you keep back for yourself to a fixed amount and the diary-keeping would be a real eye-opener - I shudder to think how much I spend in a month on expensive coffee in cafes alone. It's definitely the little things which really mount up.

Hello! same here. Im addicted to the meat/seafood isle as to maintain my muscle mass...and last weekend I spent alot on an 'extreme' protien supplement LOL. More protien supplements and less meat is the 'environmentally friendly' way so I should spend less time in that section anyway... Groceries are another little spend, big add up thing. For me I find it hard to stay under a certain amount...I dont fair well off the light stuff.

...erm, just to play devils advocate - Joey have you researched into how much it costs to produce those supplements, the packaging and clean up of the by/waste products and what the carbon footprints of those factories are?
and compared it to the cost of breeding, keeping and slaughtering livestock?
I don't know it either, but I wouldn't be too sure you can claim it is more emvironmentally friendly. ???

Amy is dead on - WGs are showering several times a day, keeping all the towels laundered as well as many sets of bedding. Temperature has to be kept at one that means it's comfortable lying around naked too.
Regards clothing it's stockings I find that really make a dint - probably about ?30 worth a week. Regards food - often because time is limited during the day, getting to bookings etc it's so easy to just grab a sandwich which also saves on washing up. As an ex athlete I have however had experience of high-protein diets and they really don't have to be that expensive. I'm a fan of cottage cheese, chicken fillets and fresh fish which can be sourced locally.

Regards stockings, no they range from ?3-6 a pair and I find they often don't last a full appointment. Sometimes I'll ladder on putting them on or last week caught them twice with the stilletto heel of the shoes I was carrying downstairs.

Do what I do, put a couple more holes in your stockings, slap on some red lippy and tell them you're going for the tarty look.

Try spraying inexpensive hair spray on the as soon as they are out of the package. And then again when you have put them on. Or Penney's (My new favorite store) has some thicker hold ups for the winter, they have that old fashion tarty look, and has the enough tinsel strength to pull a baby elephant. :)

Or StockingsHQ!
I've got some really pretty fashion opaques from there, although this winter wasn't so good for them.
If you find fishnets more durable but aren't keen on the look, try lace stockings.
The Transpareze Sara stockings are very nice and at 20d they're a more durable sheer stocking.
Or you could see if any of the cheap options work for you. Silky's Super Shine stockings and holdups are good.

So how does the Whey protein get into powder form and refined and then into the plasitc/glass container, which needs to be made and labelled?
