saving numbers/remembering clients
« on: 28 October 2013, 08:48:51 pm »
At what point do you save a number I mean is it possible to remember clients when we only see them for such a short time. Clients call me and say hi chanel its mike can I see you today or tomorrow you saw me two weeks ago or two months ago. Some clients I do see more regular so I know them but what do you do?

I save them all as either wanker don't see or see and after I've seen them if I want to see them again, they become see again or to the wanker list lol  and when they become proper regulars they get upgraded to thier full names lol

I don't save ANYBODY'S name unless its someone I do NOT want to meet or do NOT want to see again for whatever reason.

There is no need for me to have clients phone numbers that I have seen before cause if I don't know who I am speaking to then I will know the second I open up the door.

Loads of girls save they're clients phone numbers and loads of clients tell me they text they're clients when they are quiet or back in town which I think is very bad practice cause you never know what a clients home life is like, if he as a wife or gf and uses his personal phone to see girls.

I would only saves a clients number and text them if they asked me to.

xx

I only contact clients at an agreed time, or when they've indicated it's ok to do so.

I save enough to know I've seen someone, that they're ok and that I don't need to go through the directions etc with them because they know where to come, or that I saw them at a previous address so need to know I've moved. Also enough to know whether it's my 2pm John or 6pm John calling to confirm/for directions/on his way. Not too long ago I had a workman overrun on a job he was doing, I had to quickly text the client 2 minutes before the appointment time to ask him to phone so I was in my civvies, didn't have time to change. He'd confirmed that day and as far as I was aware about to walk around the corner. Far easier to have the number tagged in some way than to have to work out which number it was that had phoned me that morning.

I can't remember everyone I've seen and there's an awful lot of John/Dave/Steve's out there. Many clients want me to remember them, some get funny when I don't "Remember me I'm John from suchanareaof100000populationnottoofaraway, the one with the dark hair, medium build".  ::)

Just use your head really. Someone who has actually made a booking I save their number. As soon as an idiot hangs up the phone I mark them as an idiot. People here and there just asking questions just leave their numbers as they are.

I have had guys who have said things like let me know next time you're in Aberdeen. Then when I have I then get texts asking who am I. So I simply don't bother anymore. I just save the ones I don't want to see.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.
