The majority of my bookings are same day too, I maybe get one or two advance bookings a week. I much prefer same day bookings and prefer to be contacted by phone rather than through the AW email system. I try not to sit around waiting for calls- instead I find things to do and I'll just pop out even if I might miss calls. I decide on the the day how late I want to work to then finish. If I've had 2 or 3 clients then I'll just call it a day and have my me time and usually finish by 6 or 7pm.  I don't start until lunchtime so it's not that long a day. I only have to wait around when it's been a quiet week and if I have targets I want to meet.

Think that's a fair way to approach it, Nova. What works for one may not work for another and there's no harm in a little trial and error. X

I'm not going to display my number though. I hate speaking on the phone and I like the security of having an email address or AW account for them in case anything goes wrong.

This is just my opinion, but I feel speaking to someone on the phone offers me much more security (in terms of gauging how they are) than an email - and them having an AW account is neither here nor there for me. Having a phone number is also a form of security, hence I never confirm a booking from an unknown number.

I'd recommend showing your number for a bit and seeing what happens.

Nova, I know exactly what you mean. It's the same for me almost word from word. I have the same issue and can't afford anything. Also I hate talking on the phone n like to know what I'm doing that day when I get up. But as you say, something's got to give, right now it's my sanity, stress levels are going through the roof what with the bills not getting paid every month and finances getting worse n worse and I actually do get a ton of guys asking for my number and cos I don't list it I never hear from them again so I will have to bite the bullet and change that and just make sure I'm ready to work at all times when it's displayed or turn off my phone. I also only like doing about 3 bookings max a day depending on the length of them (rare I get that many). I'm not interested in high volumes coming to my door, neighbours getting suspicious, or pushing my body beyond comfort. I'd be happy with only seeing 4 people a week even. It's not like I'm asking for much. I've been escorting a long time but it's never been really lucrative except for the first couple of years when I didn't really have the financial commitments I have these days so the money was really just for spending on nice things, not as a means to actually survive. I'm sure there's loads of escorts around my area but I know they don't offer everything I do so even if they might be a glamour model with a perfect figure and in their twenties I still have something they don't.

I'll just have to get over my phone phobias as nothing will change until I make some changes. I don't know how I'll deal with those I decide not to see though without offending. What do u say? Or when you've already started to accept n then they say something which makes u change your mind? Or if u straight away know that there's no way you'll see them? Probably another thread here and maybe it's been covered but these are things that concern me. I think maybe I need to advertise in more places n try new listing sites, maybe if I put my number up too things will change. I've no idea what the best sites are and what's a waste of time though. Is it different for everyone or are there certain places which work better than others? I'm not paying to be on any site, I can't afford to.

I have only ever taken same day bookings when doing a hotel day or when touring.

My problem is I don't actually live in the area I cover and it can take me 1hr-1hr 30 just on travelling (and that's not including getting to the clients actual location) never mind getting ready.

I have thought about offering same day bookings when I start College as would be in Glasgow anyway, but then my phone would be off most of the day and even when on breaks I can't exactly be taking work calls in the middle of the College.

Well I struggle with the phone because my hearing is terrible, but if I really can't understand them I just make something up about not being able to talk right that moment but ask them to call back in a few minutes. When I'm expecting the call (and whilst some don't call back, plenty do) I find I feel a lot more comfortable.

Also, don't forget that showing your number doesn't mean you have to answer calls if you don't feel up to it. You can use an autoresponder to request that people text, or a recorded message or anything you like including ignoring it if you feel really panicky? The main things is that it's there - a lot of punters will skip straight past an ad with no number and you'll be disregarded before you've even started.

The reason I don't currently take same day bookings is because I like to wake up in the morning and know what I'm doing that day. It's that simple really. I guess I wouldn't have to take same day bookings every day, I just allocate a couple days a week for it and see how it goes...

I think the idea of trying it a couple of days a week is great. You might find out you like to wake up in the morning and decide what to do that day instead .

The vast majority of my bookings are in advance. I have a booking lined up as far ahead as september.  But I do tend to dedicate between one and three days a week to taking same day bookings from a hotel.  I'll display my number everywhere, put the green light on etc.
