Hi ladies, I have never taken same day bookings up to now but this year, work has died a death for me. I used to average about 6 clients a week. I'm now averaging about 2 and for shorter bookings too. As this is my sole income, I cannot survive on this tiny amount of work.
I've tried advertising elsewhere (used to only use AW), offering more services, lowering my rates, paying for local escort search on AW - nothing seems to make a difference.
The only 2 things I can think of are displaying my phone number and/or taking same day bookings, neither of which I have ever done or want to do but needs must when the devil vomits in your codpiece.
The question is: how much work do you get from same day bookings?
I really don't want to be stuck in all day unable to leave the house in case someone makes a booking and I hate the idea of constantly checking my phone and dashing back home on the off chance someone shows up.
Those of you who accept same day bookings - how do you manage them without going mad?

Probably 70% of my bookings are same day and I did this full time for 4 years and made a decent living so it obviously can work. Even now I am part time I still do them, it just seems to be how my client base work.

If you think about it, we just get horny whenever, we don't think Oh I want sex in 6 days time so it makes sense that on the day bookings are popular.

I don't believe on the day clients are any better or worse than those who book ahead so give it a go!

I must admit it is a pain hanging around waiting for the phone to ring but most of my bookings are same day bookings. Once ive done about three i think thats enough and dont bother with anymore. Then the rest of the day is for me x

'Same day' isn't the same as 'in the next ten minutes'! I find that a lot of punters know what their 'window' is and call in the morning or over lunchtime even if they don't want to come before 3 or 4pm.

I'm slightly different because I don't work from home, but I have set hours which I stick to and I don't find myself sitting around waiting for calls - I have a call blocker that automatically sends a text if I've nipped out for a few minutes so they know to either call back at X time or text their enquiry while I'm out

I'm happy to let regulars book the day before, but I don't encourage advance bookings and I like that I can work or skive when I want to if I don't feel like it and want to do something else. It also takes up less of my time than even the smoothest of advance bookings when punters just call, turn up, pay, fuck and go. Why not give it a try for a month and if you don't like it then change back?

I went from stripping wallpaper to being ready for a booking in 11 minutes the other day, and I was back at it 40 minutes after that, so it hardly interferes with my day

To answer you more fully...

Yes, you do get days when you wait around, but once you are in a good place financially you can be flexible and think sod it I'm going out and let any missed bookings wash over you. I think you have to make sure you give yourself stuff to do when you're at home 'waiting' and I think you just get used to it. It can be quite fun getting a call, dashing about to get ready and 90 mins later you've got an hours pay you weren't expecting!

tips- get yourself mostly ready at the start of the day so you can accommodate those who want to be with you in half an hour!

Eat small amounts at a time and have breakfast so if you get a 2 hour booking at 1pm you've not starving and feeling faint at 3pm cos you didn't eat earlier!

Get any pre booked clients to confirm in the morning that way you can fit in on the day bookings if they don't confirm.

if someone wants to book you when you already have a booking ask if you can a call or text in case plans change (aka no shows!)

make sure you get out even if 10 min walk round the block else you'll get cabin feverish!

I think we're in the same boat right now. I'm considering putting my number up on aw too. Never done it before cos I can't stand the thought of the endless time wasters, stalkers n abusive calls, texts n messages plus not being able to check feedback. However, at this point I can't see any other option.

I find more time wasters emailing through AW than I do through phone calls so it's worth doing if you're comfortable with it. Most of my bookings are made on the day and it's very rare I get a cancellation or have the misfortune of having my time wasted with no shows. There really aren't as many negatives to displaying your number as you may think, honest! X

I think that's more to do with how you word your ads and pitch yourself. I don't get a particularly huge amount of any of the above, and the few I do get I just hang up and block. I probably get more dickhead emails on a weekend when my phone number isn't up than I do dickhead calls on days when it is.

I get most bookings via my site and over the phone/text so I've never been interested in feedback. When I started working Adultwork didn't exist and the idea that punters should amass 'references' from random strangers to make themselves more 'appealing' was completely bizarre. To me, it still is

I don't really understand why, if you escort full-time, you wouldn't take same day bookings? I can understand a bit more not showing your phone number, but a lot of punters will not be interested in emailing, so no number displayed, no business from them.

I'm low volume, partly as I do another job from home. So long as I have anything from 30 minutes (if I'm already showered) to an hour (if I need to shower, do hair and make-up) to get ready I'm fine with it, as I can usually just put my other work to one side for an hour or two.

I'd say 80-90 percent of my bookings are same day, and most probably booked no more than three hours in advance.

You do of course get timewasters on the phone, but I think an advantage is that you can tell virtually straight away that they're either a TW or someone you have no interest in seeing, so perhaps in the long-run it saves time wasted on emails (or texts).

The majority of my bookings are same day but rarely last minute as I live in a rural location so it takes most clients at least 45 minutes to get to me.

I have had very few advance bookings lately but I don't like them as plans can change on both sides.

I don't have problems with TWs at home but again, it's probably down to location and the fact that my screening eliminates anyone who tries to dick me around.

I see a work day as being pretty much, 'stuck in the house' and although I can nip out to the bank etc, I do wait for the phone to ring. I'm not saying I don't get hacked off sometimes and lose the will to live and if that happens, I just say I'm fully booked.

I've never worked any other way and as a touring escort, I am happy with same day bookings. I don't like advance bookings on tour either particularly but if they book through AW and we've talked on the phone then I'm happy to take a booking for the day before but certainly no more than that.

I've never worked without my phone number being displayed and I find the majority of emails on AW are a waste of my time.

It's interesting how we all work differently although it must work as I see many ladies stating that they can only be booked by email but that would do my head in.

Thanks ladies, that's made me feel far more positive about it now. I do same day bookings but rarely ones that want to arrive in the next 10-30mins. Not unless I'm literally sat there ready that is.

I don't find my free site I made brings me any business in at all. Despite it being linked to loads of listing sites. Interesting that you've never really used aw Amy. Sometimes I'd love to not rely on it. Is yours a professionally made website?

I can do that. I don't use makeup for bookings - see other thread - and it is so much easier and productive.

Vast majority of my work are same-day bookings, and I use email only, so with a phone showing that ratio will probably skew even higher to shorter notice appointments.

This topic comes up fairly frequently. I think it depends on how established the escort is. Each escort tends to have their niche market. I'm not sure how new you are but I believe these things do take time. I need to look on the resource section of SAAFE myself! Also, at the risks of making a complete ass of myself, if you live nearby drop-dead gorgeous model-figure EE escorts available 24/7 with an established stream of fans, you have got a lot to compete with.
Someone else said, she operates from the rural area where punters would need to travel 45 minutes. This is mostly my case. This often means traffic / delays. I sometimes do decline punters who delayed 45 minutes. He clearly did not allow extra time in case of traffic. (But I digress). I agree with people who had posted as above. Overall, the extremely helpful thread loads of people would glean insights from.
