Title: Robbed
Post by: liyaun on 02 November 2018, 10:28:04 pm
Hello. I need advise please. I'm an independent massage giver and I share a flat with another working girl near Baker Street. On Thursday night we were robbed. Three men forced their way into our flat after one made a booking, kicked in doors, threatened us and took cash. They were East European. We are scared. Should we go to police? What do other independents do for security? We have their phone number and a photo of them.

Yes, go to the police - that's what they're for. A good way to do this is via National Ugly Mugs and they can send an alert out to others too.

You can also post a warning here in the Warnings section :).

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Yes please do post a warning and go to the police.

The only advice I could give is that I get them to stand across the road where I can see them approach my block before giving them full address. To make sure they are alone. I also have a spyhole where I check before opening the door.  Its not fool proof I'm sure, but are you able to do something similar?

@Ana30. I will try to. Can I put their whole phone number? Why do I need to leave out last two numbers.

You don't need to censor the last two digits.if you're sending it in a PM.

The posting rules for the warnings section are here: https://saafe.info/main/warnings-wasters/***rules-for-posting-warnings***/ (https://saafe.info/main/warnings-wasters/***rules-for-posting-warnings***/)

Because nobody reads them no matter how many times we ask or how prominent we try to make them the entire section is now automatically moderated, which means it takes slightly longer for warnings to appear as they have to be individually checked by whoever gets to them first. This is a quicker process if we don't have to edit them too :).

This happened to a close friend of mine about a few months ago. She told me a very similar story and I wonder if it's the same guys. There were three men. One came in first on a booking, probably to reccy the flat before making an excuse to leave. He let in the other two, then the three of them made threats, struck one of her friends when she refused to cooperate and made away with cash, laptops and mobiles. The same three guys returned two weeks later and did the same thing again.

She said she reported it to the police on both occasions.

Another friend of mine had an attempt made a few weeks later. She is also located in the Baker Street area. She screamed and let off a loud panic alarm. They ran away.

I don't see why not, there was no hidden agenda on the message.
