Whoever you choose to build you a site, make sure they are happy for you to have a copy of all passwords to your hosting, ftp, stats, domain name registrar and anything else

I would also arange to register the domain name yourself, its not difficult, fill in a few boxes, im happy to talk anybody through the process

this way if your designer decides match of the day is more important, gets run over by a bus or whatever, you still have control of everything
