I do feel you need to think long-term, but if you're not happy with your current career path, I'd say you might as well cut your losses and leave, unless the Masters is very important to you and/or you could finish it independently.

On the other hand, do bear in mind the 'new girl' effect, where when you're first on AW you tend to get more bookings than someone who's been around a few years. That said, plenty of escorts do steady business for a long time.

I would leave the job, escort full time and do you best to maintain your good reputation, and try and earn as much as you can for a couple of years whilst gaining any qualifications you need. Then, you can set yourself up as self-employed/a freelancer in a civvy job and probably still escort part-time. That way there will be no/few gaps on your CV if you do decide to go back into full-time employment.

I'd say life is far too short to be stuck doing something you hate. If you're making 4  - 6 grand a month escorting you could buy your freedom in a month and start aiming for your dreams

Hey Kay, thanks for your reply.

I do think long term which is why I keep weighing all pros and cons. I already know that sticking to that shit job will only waste my time and deteriorate my health. I am in the position to pay them that 5 grand for the “certificate”, which is still something for cv. I might as well stick it out until September and leave with only half the masters.

I can then cover the gap by saying ive been in education. Which is would be if I was to make a career chance into a different field.

Exactly! The new girl effect! It’s been five months, I’m very busy and tend to be booked week or two in advance. Im scared it’s just the new girl effect but then I do have repeat business and know I am good at this [off topic content redacted] Also, my biggest worry is that if I jump both feet into it then the business would  vanish.

yep, "do what you want" and "what you love" i do not think that it is too realistic sorry!  :P
you will depend always from your clients in same way!  :-X
switching from full time permanent to self employed is always a risk "exciting" and you can kill it and do very well!
but do what you totally want...ahah i am not sure!

i was full time creative fun glamour job and i am now full time escort

each person is different. I do not regret and i will do the same again! bear in mind that nothing is easy, fun, freedom...
escort is not always easy or glamour, you ll have difficult moment as in a normal job..
hate your manager or hate your client

nothing is going to be perfect!

health side...ahah much better escort that sit all day long on the desk..
stress can be more or less
money they are not sure or garantee
if you are sick you can not work
if you got a big spot or a big mark somewhere...maybe you can not work
your body is your business...at office maybe less

...so do what you feel is better for you know

I would complete whatever you have going on now, it would be a shame to waste the work you've already put in and my learning in life has been to just carry on taking all opportunities which come your way.

You can expand Escorting later, or use it to supplement your income.

Hi,

I can totally empathise with your situation. I'm in the same predicament in my 9-5 office job. I'm sticking it out for several months until I have a substantial amount of savings behind me and then I'll make the decision for definite. I feel it definitely helps to make a pros and cons list, and be realistic with the cons. It can be easy to write a whole list of pros when your mind is swaying that way. I completely understand your frustration but like others have said, it would be a shame to throw away something as good as a paid-for masters degree, I think personally I'd stick through it for that and once the masters is done pay them back so you can get outta there!

And can I just say... It sounds like you are doing amazingly right now escorting part time! £4-6k on top of your civvy salary a month? If I earnt that per month I'd be out of my civvy job in a flash to go and work full time :o Do you mind me asking how many clients you see per week as I find it so exhausting working full time as well as trying to fit escorting in on the side when I can. I'm also outcall only. That is one of the main reasons I want to quit the civvy work as it's just so emotionally tiring fitting in clients around work (one of my "cons" haha) I turn down bookings when I need some me-time.

Hi Chloe,

Yes, juggling the day job and the escorting job is incredibly exhausting at times. On a good week, I’ve done two clients every day after work and 3-4 during the weekend. I’m at £150. I average £1500 a week and that’s part time and outcall only. I’ve just recently got the incall location which will make things sooo much easier and I’d rather them coming to me instead of driving crazy mileage day in and day out. Very busy, but I keep having that fear that it might be just to do with the “new girl” syndrome as mentioned above by Kay. However, I happen to be based in a large area with not many decent escorts (according to punters who punt here for years) so there’s some potential for sustainability.

I’ll probably stick it out and get out of the civvy job as soon as possible (after getting the masters off them). Hate every second but need to be sensible since any physical injury/condition can effectively render you unable to meet clients and the day job kinda fills that gap. But I do make it a plan to escape the 9-5 grind ASAP because it absolutely kills me especially when making 4-5 times more for less time.

Personally I would stick it out if it’s only for a year then it will go really quickly and now you have your incall place you can offer incalls which may mean your not not as tired
Driving to outcalls can be very exhausting as 1hr can often take 2/3hrts when you factor in the time for getting there and back

It’s seems crazy that it’s only a year left. So to waste a PG Degree and have to pay 5k for the pleasure of doing so seems a bit crazy and it’s something you will have and can springboard you on to other stuff should you find that escorting is not for you later on

Also initially escorting at the beginning your generally always busy generally for 3-6 months then it can and often slows down sometimes when your least expecting it
You only have to read the slow /busy thread that’s been going on for 10 years 😂😂 to realise how up and down this work can be for some escorts

So you could easily find yourself in 3- 6 months time with way less work and having to pay back 5k and no PG Degree and wondering what the f... went wrong

As you have your incall place now I would probably work mon wed fri evenings and either a Sat  /Sun
That way you get a day off escorting every other day and a day off on the weekend
You would only have to do a 1-2 bookings each night and a few on the weekends to make very good money
I’ve worked in my home town for years but I tour as well
So when I am home I am generally pretty busy with bookings from regs as I’m not that avali

One thing to consider is will you charge the same for your incalls as you have for outcalls
Generally outcalls are 20-40 pounds more than incalls so you may need to drop your rate to stay competitive
My incalls are 120 outcalls are 160 I price then higher as I don’t like doing them rarely do them
And prefer to do  incalls
