Rates - What do you charge?
« on: 29 July 2010, 12:22:04 pm »
I know it is rude to ask but I have been told am too cheap, i thought i was average for the area but now I'm not sure.
I charge ?120 an hour and offer a GFE with owo.  I don't offer anal or domination.
Do you think this is the correct rate for the services I offer or should it be more?
Do you pick you rate because of what you offer compared to others or just because that's what you want to charge ?
Is ?120 on the cheap side?

many thanks

Well I charge the same as you but am from a diferent area. I think the best thing is to charge what you are comfortable with and not worry about what anyone else is charging

Christ in my area there are so many girls charging ?60 now that I look really expensive but I am buggered if I will change my rates to be the same as everyone else.

I charge ?120 an hour too, and I'm considered to be on the more expensive side where I am - I think a lot does depend on what area you're in!

I think Danielle is right- charge what you want. I charge 150 an hour, and I charge that no matter where I am. I do offer a half hour option though, at 100. My rates are often higher than the other girls advertising, but it doesn't hold me back. I would rather do two than three anyway, if that makes sense.

Hi Blue, I also charge ?120 for incalls, and ?90 for the half hour. I agree with what the others have said re charges varying depending on the area. I feel comfortable with what I charge and am happy with that, I think that's the main thing

Also, sometimes a client will tell you that you're not charging enough just as a well-meaning compliment. It doesn't mean he has a magical knowledge of market forces within the sex industry and is foretelling that you must and should change your rates immediately or else! :)

This industry can be navigated in completely different ways depending on your location, rates relative to the 'average' rate, the services you do, the kind of 'companionship'/courtesan-ing thing you might do, your age, your appearance (i.e. if you might fit into the 'porn star' kind of look, or 'girl next door' etc) and everything else.

Y'all can see on my site the extortionate rates I charge. ;) I'm really picky with my clients, too, and generally have had, and hope to continue to have, a brilliant time doing this job - mainly, I think, because I picked rates, services and the kind of companionship that I offer purely to suit myself and not to suit anyone else. The others above are completely right about that being the most important thing!

I think I'm probably the cheapest here - I'm ?100 an hour and I do 15 minute and 30 minute appointments (?40 & ?60). Combination of being in Newcastle and liking to stay really, really busy. Confession - I keep a tally of how many sex partners I have, and throw parties every landmark :P A little trashy? Maybe  ;D

I don't believe in too cheap or too expensive, if you're happy with how much work you're getting and how much you're earning, that's fine. If you find you're busier than you want to be and are turning away work then maybe it's time to put the rates up and work less to earn the same or more. I started out on half what I charge now (hadn't done any research about what the going rates were) and that's exactly what I did - I realised I could work 7 days a week 24 hours a day if I wanted to because my phone never stopped ringing, but I like being able to eat and sleep every now and again  ::)

Krystal, do you receive at your home or other place rented place?

I am from outside Uk and here also the rates what girls usually ask start from 100 euro an hour but most of the girls for all in ask 150-200 euro. If I just had place where I could receive large amount of people, I could place ad for quickie 50 euro/15 min. I did it once before and it was the phone ringing all the day! I actually understand it, becouse many times when I do now only minimum one hour, the clients when they are ready two times after 20-30 minutes they don't have any energy left for more times, they just living earlier. When they see such a opportunity for a half price then everybody will come to you! :D

At the other site I have seen on Uk websites actually that there are some agencies charging incredible price for an hour, start from 500 euro till 1000 for an appointment ! The girls was beautiful but also those kind of super models you can see anywhere for two three times lower price that they had. Anybody had any experience with these kind of agencies?
He came in the morning and woke me up with killer instinct. Wish I could stop this now.

I work in my home - if I was renting a working flat I would definitely charge more.

I also charge ?120 an hour and in my opinion you should charge what rate YOU are happy to charge and it doesn't matter what other girls charge or what guys think/say you should charge  ;)

So which one sounds worse:

You're too cheap.

You're too expensive.

Both of them have their drawbacks, but atleast with being too cheap you get money all the time. Being too expensive tends to challenge the 'value of diminishing returns'.

Thats another reason why Im considering to get a regular job in addition to this, so I wont have to charge no less than a certain amount...But with this economy, guess you gotta be happy for what you can get, but make sure its not stupidly cheap.

I'm glad this was brought up. Rates are a multi-layered subject. The first layer is the external stuff- location, marketing, and how busy you choose to be. The second is more personal-looks, services, and the other things. What works for one lady even in a particular area doesn't necessarily work for another in the same area marketing herself in a similar way.

My marketing strategy is completely bonkers from most ladies in my area. There are a few others like me, and it's all because we have civvie jobs. I can afford to wait on the guys who want to spend the time with me that makes me comfortable. I'm not any more expensive per se, but it's more about the quality of the experience and not the quantity for me. Right now, if I didn't have a date all week I could care less. But if I didn't work, I would most definitely do shorter dates and my rates would be most like the other ladies.

When I get to London, it's going to be a different issue. The goal will be to see as many guys as humanely possible, while still remaining sane, healthy, and able to be polite. This is where I'm having to take a look at things. The area I'll be in and my marketing will have a big effect on my success. I'm considering my maximum and my minimum. Whether or not I should 'tour' different areas on different days once I get my footing. I'm having to consider all my options should my Plan A falls through.  I will need to be as flexible as a noodle. A cooked one anyway.

Always take into consideration your own circumstances and go from there. If what you're doing doesn't work, as in you're not meeting a financial goal, firstly look at yourself and what you're willing to change (or not), then change your rates accordingly. If at 120 an hour you find yourself mindbogglingly busy, it may be time to raise your rates and step up your marketing.

London can be very hard work Tiffany, you may want to look at the home counties. By hard work I mean there are an awful lot of ladies all chasing a pot of gold, and some are exceptionally good at it. I'm not saying you won't do well, I have no doubt you will. Consider places where there are less ladies if you really want to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for the advice Lucy! It does seem to be quite saturated. So would you think it would be smarter to move around in some of the smaller areas would help?
