Just a quick post to say hello and was wondering if anyone could advise how to get more into this line of work.

Currently I have a profile setup on gayswap.com as I am only planning on catering to men, I've had a few customers from it but was hoping for advice on where else I can advertise.

gayswap is very quiet - even as a man looking for male clients, you will probably get more interest from AW itself.

Online, the big one is Gaydar, especially for the 'I want someone now' market. They charge to post as an escort in the escort/client board and it can get silly with clients 'booking' several escorts but only opening the door to the first one to arrive.

As has (just) been said, other online directories exist - do a search and see who turns up.

If you're in London or somewhere else with a major scene, there's also the gay press. The local weekly press, where it exists, can be better than the national monthlies - the latter want to charge 'you're advertising to the whole of the UK' rates, when you don't care about readers outside London / wherever.

I've merged your post in with some similar ones so you can have a look at the advice and suggestions given previously - if you're completely new to sex work do read the main SAAFE site as well; most of the advice is gender neutral and all of it is important.

A better option would be men4rentnow.com. You pay like $30 a month to start for a basic ad. However, I just checked Leeds on that site and there are no escorts listed in that area which lead me to believe it may not be any traffic.

You can also try adam4adam, and gayromeo, hourboy, rentmen. Check all of those sites.

Free in gay speak usually means it doesn't work well...

Blaine, I can't check because I'm on my phone but do those sites all have UK listings sections - US sites are not going to be any help to the OP? Bear in mind we have more free advertising available here too.

What I said further up the page still holds more or less true for me except the order of how effective those sites are is a bit different now. In order of effectiveness now = my site, rentboy, gayromeo, backpage, manworks, gaydar, craigslist, manjam etc. I stopped using sleepyboy because I was reaching my targets from the others and haven't used gaytimes or QX for a while since I've been touring outside UK. Twitter is worth doing to promote your site when you get one. You can also get clients from grindr, badoo, tinder etc if you have a very high tolerance level for looking at thousands of messages from people who'll never book an appointment while waiting for an actual client to come along. I only do this when I'm not reaching my target of 1-2 clients per day from my other ads. You can make make some money on AW as a man by selling pics and videos, camming etc but not much and you'll get very few genuine clients from there.

Lots of good info on the main page of SAAFE. Specifically to male escorting- You'll get a lot more requests for bareback and "party" / "chem" bookings than women get.. My advice is don't ever bareback or do drugs.

I get most of my work from gaydar in the UK. Then gaytimes magazine, gayromeo and rentboy in that order for how many genuine clients they bring me.

I'd recommend getting your own website and promoting it as much as you can.

Gayromeo seems to work well in most European countries. Gaydar and sleepyboy are ok in London but no good anywhere else in my experience. Rentboy only seems to work if you get a platinum or diamond ad which is expensive but it's a popular American site so it gets you Americans in hotels. These are usually easy bookings and they tip.

Manjam is free and you'll get genuine guys there occasionally amongst a lot of pic collectors.

Craigslist is ok if you can get the point across that you're an escort without being banned and don't mind a lot of messages from timewasters. Backpage is cheap but I don't get many genuine responses. I have adultwork and gayswap profiles but I don't think I ever got a single genuine client from either of them.

Probably because you're not on more of the gay-specific sites yet.

It's worth adding a line (no pun intended!) that you're not interested in clients who want to do drugs with you, otherwise you will get some who assume that of course you are.
