Hiya

I'm moving up to London in the next two weeks, and am interested in some opinions re: the most suitable area to work from. Girls I've talked to have recommended South Ken/Fitzrovia, those sorts of areas. Central/West central, really. I'm more interested in living slightly East, more around the Old Street area. I've got to pull the trigger on a place this week, and although I've seen a few places I LOVE I'm a little nervous, as I've been told that's too far out (which sounds absurd to me, but still... I haven't talked to that many people about it).

Also! I'm going to be hosting incalls from my apartment, which I have done in my current place but here I would hire a friend to sit in the next room for the few hours I would work. This gave me a great sense of security, but I don't have anyone I could ask to do that in London. How do you ladies handle working from your place alone?

(I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I can't seem to get anything other than an error from the search function!)

I think you'd be fine near Old Street - there are a lot of tech companies around there, and you're near the City.

I work alone in my own apartment in Birmingham city centre. To be honest with you its the best thing I've ever done I really really love it and my lifestyle. I've not really had any proper abusive men so I don't bother with a bodyguard waiting in the lounge.

Except for a few days in parlours and a shared prossie house for a few months I've always worked alone. I work from home for years now and (touch wood) I've never had a problem but I put that down to the screening of my clients.

I have always preferred the City of London to anything on the West side of London.

I have always preferred the City of London to anything on the West side of London.

I think I prefer just about anywhere to the west part of Central London. Any further over than Victoria and I start turning into Frankie Boyle.

South Ken is dead for a lot of people. Anything near the financial district/accessible to it will be good! Old Street is good, I know a few girls who do well there.  As long as you're near a tube you'll be fine. Good luck and welcome to London!! xxx

I would suspect that working near the City you would be very busy Monday to Friday, a bit less at the weekend.

I suppose it depends on when you want to be working, if you wanted to work evenings and/or weekends then the City probably wouldn't be much good.

Where as if you wanted to work daytime during the week then you would probably do fine in the city.

Have you thought about selecting a few different areas that you are interested in and doing a tour to those areas?

I know it won't be 100% but would give you an idea of wether or not it's a busy area.

Another good idea is to google tube lines (there's a page on Wikipedia) go through picking out stations that have more than 2 lines in the areas you are interested in.

No such thing as 'too far out' in my opinion. There is a lot of competition in central London, Kensington, Mayfair etc so whilst there might be more potential clients per square metre there are also more escorts! Don't forget men live everywhere! A fancy address may appeal to some and probably worth it if you're going for that elite companion type brand, but of course your overheads much higher and you can get somewhere bigger/nicer further out.  I don't know East London as well as I do West London, but I'm sure there are areas such as The Docklands or Canary Wharf which are affluent and full of men!

If you're further out, like me you'll pick up men from outside London and those that live further out as well as be near to other hubs such as the airports or links onto the M25 and other major roads and close to other towns/suburbs. For example Richmond is leafy and affluent and a fair way out of the centre.

I would say Old Street would be a good area tbh, not too far out and plenty of of people about. However area shouldn't be your only concern!

Your main concern once you have the area sussed is the transport links and parking. A lot of men will not want to walk far from tube/train and somewhere with terrible parking puts you at a disadvantage, but this can be balanced with good train/tube/bus links close by.

Your next issue is the layout of flat- ideally you should be able to see them before you give them your flat number- either on arrival from a window or via video entrance so you know you aren't letting in someone you have banned and to ensure they are alone or indeed actually in front of the right building!

As for working alone, I have always done it and it's just a matter of doing your screening carefully, using your instinct and setting your own rules and sticking to it! i.e. limiting clients per day or having a cut off time at night. You can't rely on clients to close doors quietly and also that neighbours won't clock a high number of men arriving daily!

I believe anyone can work anywhere in London with good constant marketing/advertising and by providing a great service men will come back for. It might take a little time to get to where you want to be but it can be done!

Give me a shout if you have any questions about working alone from home!

I don't agree that nowhere is too far out. I've always been told where I am is in the sticks and a trek! Clients are forever saying they wish I was more within central London than in the suburbs. However, I'm sure Old Street will be fine. Working alone has always been okay for me, don't forget that anybody else working in the same premises and then it's classed as a brothel which is illegal so working alone doesn't have you worrying about getting done for that. Safety wise it's always been good for me, touch wood it will stay that way once I start accepting phone bookings.

With regards to the working alone issue, I always have the radio/tv on in another room, and once in the bedroom I say to the client something along the lines of 'if you hear any noise, don't worry, it's just my flatmate, but she won't disturb us, we have a code, bedroom door closed means don't disturb, unless i scream' and then I laugh sweetly. I am often alone when I say this. If they don't like it, fine, the door to leave is the same door you used to come in sweetie.

They are much less likely to misbehave if they think they are not alone in the flat with you.
