I have never and would never give ANY personal info about myself to ANY client, having once been stalked by someone who found out about me by me innocently mentioning where I shop and later on in the session what time I finished that day. He managed to find my real address through only having that info and my work name only (no real name) - maybe he followed me home (not that close by where I worked either) . No idea. But had to call the police in the end. Another 'lovely' young chap I had told him where I get off the train and he started texting a week later stuff like "saw you coming off the train this morning, you look great with no make up on" 

No real names at all, no area lived, area from, family details, school/college/uni attended, where I shop or socialize. I make up a whole different life story which is totally opposite and I ust be a good liar cause it sounds so natural now after all the practise!

 

The job is different to other jobs but you don't go to a shop and ask the checkout staff their names just because you have been served by them. You don't ask the post man his name just because he post your letters daily etc. In this day and age where some clients are happy to out escorts I won't be the one running around whinging when being too flappy with my gob has got me into hot water.

Checkout staff 99% of the time have name badges lol. I know lots of people who are friendly with their local postman and address them by their first name. My point is how by saying JUST you're first name going to get you in hot water?

Nothing is impossible.Just because a client seems nice it doesn't mean he will always stay that way.All it takes is for you to refuse him something and the nastiness starts.Why on earth would they want to know your real name.I always think they are wanting to know it for no good reason.All it takes is a client to sit around once he knows your incall place, follow you and it does happen and then slowly pick up little bits of info about you and link them together. Next thing you know he has used your real name on feedback,forum etc.

To me it is better to never give too much information about yourself and not discuss too much about your everyday life with clients as they will just expect more and you will feed them more and more thinking its not important info until they out you.

That's the key. You have to fake, pretend and lie. It's much easier to do that then to get all wound up about the question. I even go so far as to tell them my working name is my real name.

I don't agree with that at all. Yes you shouldn't go around blabbing personal details to every Tom dick and harry for you're own safety! And I have learnt some very harsh lessons about trusting people, but to say you have to fake, pretend and lie making a generalisation about WGs when we are NOT all like that or feel the need to do that is not right. I think clients actually appreciate you giving off abit of you're REAL personality and showing a little of who you are as a person. There are too many fakes and liars in this world.

I've nothing against showing some of my true personality to a client but what I won't do is divulge snippits of info that can be knitted together and used maliciously against me.We aren't doing a job that is accepted by society we are the lowest of the low in some peoples eyes. So I don't blame some people for not being up front about certain things. Yes there are too many fakes and liars in this world, just as there are menacing people that will visit you with the sole intention of causing some kind of problem to you.

You're very right about that. It's the sad truth and I would never purposely or be silly enough to put myself in a situation by saying things that could cause me harm and I am an extreamly private person. I just don't believe we we all need to fake, lie and pretend ALL the time as I believe that could turn some people very bitter.

To be honest, if you've got a map of your location and a picture of your face available online then I'm surprised the above situation doesn't occur on a daily basis! Out of consideration to your neighbours, do you think you might consider removing the map? You're could so easily get journalists as well as a wide variety of other strange people using that information in a way that is upsetting to you and everyone else who lives near you.

I know there are some listings sites who offer the "amazing feature" of being able to show your location on a map but I don't think anyone who actually lives where they work actually puts their actual address in there. I've put a local tube station in before; you could just pop in the address of any local landmark - you know, the same one you'd direct clients to so you're not giving out your full address before they've even gotten near (right?).
